Sorry, I posted twice.Thanks.Terry

Your request could NOT be processed. Reason: The [JOBSCHEDULER] section should be unique, there are two or more sections with this name.I believe I entered everything correctly. Help appreciated Straight%20Face.gif

Post the config so we can see it!

Hey *******,Have not seen you for quite awhile. Are you OK and everything well with you and yours? Tis the season for checking on friends, so here I am asking.Kind regards,
Stephen! doing good! hoping everything's great. I'm away from Flight simulation for the moment.. currently very busy with my job. The only time I have is for Battlefield 3 on my PS3 and thats because I don't have to tweak anything :)

If you check you fsx.cfg file, you'll notice that (for some reason) it does contain TWO sections for [JOBSCHEDULER]That is incorrect, there should only be one.

Nice to see that you are still around, *******. Thanks for all you have done for us FSX users and Merry Christmas !

KInd regards

Jean-Paul

Quite correct. Apologies, I thought it was a app error. All fixed now and thanks for a brilliant utility Money%20Eyes.gif

Just wanted to add my thanks to this thread. I feel this automated tweaker saved me a lot of headaches, combine this with nvidia inspector and it's the perfect match on my system. My only issue is that somtimes I have ground objects (air race pylons, runway lights, etc) disspearing when I gain a little height and it takes a second or two to draw in Autogen somtimes. Anyone hear of similar situations and whats been done to resolve that?

Thanks for the tweak. One thing to note: I have notebook with an AMD 6990M GPU. The site doesn't recognize AMD. As I'm sure you know, ATI has been rebranded as AMD. You may want to look into this. Here is the site comment re my video card: We suggest an ATI or NVIDIA card for improved performance, we have no recomendations for AMD Radeon HD 6900M Series cards.I do have a concern. I don't think it directly relates to the revised config file, but my frame rates are reduced to between 15-20 when I fly over remote areas with evergreen trees. Cities, lights, water, clouds all hover around 30 frames. I'm from Canada, and the first entry for Canada is 108 mile ranch (remote with evergreens), which is where I first noticed the reduced rate. Now I am rather new to flight simulation, so I don't understand the reason for this. If anyone can set me straight on this, I'd appreciate it.Thanks again for the site.

Graham Derreck

Huey; these steps are pretty concise, but not everyone is so computer-literate that they can follow this type of instruction without help - so I'll ask - are you sure you understand these instructions --- or are you confused by them? It's ok if you are, no-one here is laughing, but we won't get to the bottom of it if you are having this problem...

STEP 1 - Copy the following string in your clipboard: %AppData%\Microsoft\FSX\fsx.cfgTo copy the string, simply highlight the text in bold shown above with your mouse, then press the right mouse button and select the option that says 'Copy'.....STEP 2 - Click on the 'Browse... or Choose File' button here: you will see a prompt asking you to select a file. Simply 'Paste' the contents of your clipboard (see string above) in the 'File name' field and then click 'Open'To paste the contents of your clipboard, press the right mouse button and select 'Paste'. Make sure you 'Paste' inside the 'File name' field you'll see in the prompt that will open, then click the 'Open' button.
For me the instructions do not go far enough. Copying the %AppData% string to the clipboard is easy enough - Highlight it, then - rt-click on it, and then select "Copy" from the window that pops up.. right? - but step 2 is not so straightforward....When you Left-click on "Browse" - a Windows Explorer window will open!.. Here you need to look at the bottom of the window - at the place that's asking you for a filename - put the pointer in the slot, and simply rt-click in it and select "Paste", and then Left-click on "Open". That's all. When you then look at the white box next to the "Browse" button you will see that your fsx.cfg is already pasted into it. Now you can hit the "Begin" bit...Check through what I've written here, and see if you're perhaps doing something different.

Thx for the tweak...Trying it now, to see how FSX runs.

The site for the tweaker and the shader mod are down. :sad:Hope it's just a temporary thing.

I tried to run this Automated Tweaking + Tuning Tool but it threw up an error message that it had found two Job Schedulers and sure enough when I examined the FSX.cfg file, towards the end, I did find two entries for Job Schedulers.[JOBSCHEDULER]AffinityMask=255[JOBSCHEDULER]AffinityMask=14Question is, which one do I delete before re-submitting for Bojote's tweak? Thanks.

I just used this, and I tried it on FSX immediately afterwards. One thing I noticed was the higher FPS, but when the sim loads textures for a new area (If I'm turning from the cockpit, for example), the FPS drop to 6. The textures do load faster, but I get 6 FPS while it loads quite a lot. Am I doing something wrong or is this normal?

Thanks,

Kevin L
