December 4, 201015 yr Author i will buy the grand caravan from flight1 and my question is:if we look to the controll area within fsx there are some possibilities for the setting of the steerwheel like sensetivity and null zones.is there someone who knows what the best settings are to comply with the closest reality feeling? paula
December 4, 201015 yr The realistic feel will come with the developers talent while the FS internal settings just allow you to match your hardware to the FS itself. Some hardware needs null zones, others not for example. You won't find standard rules for setting up those parameters in FS but maybe someone with the same hardware can give you a tip about his point of view when setting them up. So what's your hardware so far, doeke? The plane behavior itself therefor is mainly developer based and could be influenced from the fact if he used a yoke or a stick to tune his (model internal) settings. Your potential to rule out any bad or enhance any good via the mentioned FS settings is quite small.
December 5, 201015 yr Author thanks for the helpi have a v-max flight steer from metali put the settings on default. paula
December 5, 201015 yr I can vouch for the Carenado Caravan, I have had it about 2 months, at want point I went back to the default Caravan for a couple of flights, that was lacking in looks, feel and atmosphere.I have recentl also bought the BN Islander, this is a twin prop aircraft that may well appeal to those pilots that are already flying the Caravan, its a dream to fly, very versatile (they land on a beach in Scotland as part of a regular island service). and there are plenty of repaints for it. The other plus is that it is a lot friendlier on framerates then the carenado caravan. That said both planes are well worth having.http://www.flight1.c...uct=bn2islander CORSAIR OBSIDIAN SERIES™ 750D FULL TOWER CASE - Intel® Core™ i7 Eight Core Processor i7-9700K (3.6GHz) 12MB Cache - Gigabyte Z390 UD: ATX, LG1151 - 32GB Corsair VENGEANCE DDR4 3000MHz - NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 2070 SUPER - 2TB SEAGATE BARRACUDA SATA-III 3.5" HDD, 6GB/s, 7200RPM, 256MB CACHE - 1TB INTEL® 760p M.2 NVMe PCIe SSD (upto 3230MB/sR | 1625MB/sW) - CORSAIR 650W TXm SERIES - CoolerMaster MasterLiquid Lite 120 High Performance Liquid Cooler
December 5, 201015 yr I can only regret that they didn't release an amphibian version.Probably because there is no such thing as an amphibious C208B Grand Caravan The best gift you can give your children is your time.
December 6, 201015 yr You can't do wrong on buying this beauty if you like the slower and short field able planes. Carenado did a great job on the presentation and atmosphere.I didn't know about the Wilco too but she surely comes from early FS9 ages.As for the lighting, you don't get multistage there, so just on or off is available. But "on" looks good to me. Sadly, Carenado still is stuck to 2D gauges while there are already some ac around which show the beauty and fluent operation of the 3D stuff without eating your fps.No backlit operation on this C208 instruments. Each gauge has its own spotlights (not adjustable). Looks good, readability is fine, seems authentic. ADI, HSI and RMI look like an exception from this as they don't have spotlights but are lit very evenly but not like they're backlit. You can see the more uneven lighting on the engine instruments.I'm not using any ENB setup here so what you see is what you'll getIf I might suggest: Buy her, buy the new Northern Rockies stuff from Orbx too and enjoy everything about bush flying in the best possible quality. :smile:Although one would find things to "be better" on this plane, this is the best C208 available, that's for sure.Microsoft really beat them into 3D gauges, but as far as I've experienced with Carenado for months now, the gauges are far more fluid on these models. December 6, 201015 yr Probably because there is no such thing as an amphibious C208B Grand CaravanThere is a Cessna Caravan Amphibian. I guess that's what people mean when they say it would be nice if Caranado would make one - I'd certainly like one. I guessing the VC would be the same (other than the float gear up/down and water rudder) so just exterior model and flight model update. December 6, 201015 yr Now that would have been a nice addition to the base model and other than paying for some missing windows I really would go and pay for this one.Great point, guys. I hope Carenado is aware of our wishes.
December 6, 201015 yr Probably because there is no such thing as an amphibious C208B Grand Caravan Really?? :--)Really.That's a C208A, not a C208B.Both Wilco and Carenado made C208BsNow that would have been a nice addition to the base model and other than paying for some missing windows I really would go and pay for this one.Great point, guys. I hope Carenado is aware of our wishes. There's more to the differences in the A and B model than a couple windows. If you want an amphib Caravan why not port the FS9 model over.regards,Joe[edit]to put it in tubeliner terms, saying the C208A and B are the same plane is akin to saying the A318, A319, and A320 are all the same plane.[\edit] The best gift you can give your children is your time.
