Any plans for more "lite" AC such as the B 1900?

Featured Replies

Good day,I was wondering if there are plans in the work for more AC such as the B1900? Perhaps a regional jet? I've got the 737, 747 and 1900. It is nice to have a less complex plane in which you can "kick the tires and light the fires" and be flying in a matter of minutes. Thanks for the great work!Gary

Well, they do have a Bombardier Dash-8 in the works. That is the most B1900 like aircraft that has been announced from PMDG :(

The ngx is taking pmdg in a new direction, with more complexity in there simulations. I highly doubt that the dash 8 will be lite, but you never know. I think all future lite sims will come from just flight.

The PMDG BAe JS4100 is relatively light and fairly quick to master, especially if you take the initial time to to fly the tutorial flight from White Planes, NY (KHPN) to Dulles, Washington, DC (KIAD). The FMC is very simple, engine management is not difficult if you follow a few guidelines, and there is even an easy mode you can set up to disable engine failures through the PMDG JS4100 Configuration Manager. As for what is on the horizon, probably nothing as "lite" as the B1900 series, but we certainly have some fun products coming down the pipe.

How about a full sim of the 1900c and d!

Please don't make anything lite. That's what feelthere is for.

A cheap shot that's uncalled-for, and feelthere does better than many when it comes to developing something other than "lite"...as evidenced by their ERJ-135/145 v2 and E-175/195.

Ahahaha PMDG makes everything look lite. I only trust PMDG, LVLD and FSLABS for planes. I once tried out those ERJ's and disappointment is an understatement.

FT was too lazy to simulate a single failure. The ERJ is good enough to use, but just good enough. Once the NGX comes out, it's the last time I use it.Admittedly, the ERJ isn't awful. It just lacks failure simulation, which is irritating because it makes the whole thing seem artificial.

Besides them not including performance charts, what gripes do you have with FT?

True, the high end PMDG stuff makes most sims look lite. However, I have found that the better FT products (ERJs and 737) are about on par with the JS41 in terms of system simulation. You have to give the FT guys credit for what they do. We've got reasonably simulated ERJs, 737CLs and had a C750 and a A320 years before anyone else put one out.

The lack of failures is also an issue. As I said, the ERJ is good enough, but a bit unambitious given how easy it would be to simulate failures. The lack of performace data and the method of calculating the v-speeds pretty much requires that it be flown by the seat of the pants, never quite sure what it will do.

Guys,I'm not going to tolerate knocks at other developers here - I actually happen to like FeelThere's ERJ 2.0 a lot, I fly it frequently. Yes, it doesn't have some of the more advanced things we do in our mainline products, but then again it's also half the price and the only decent sim of a regional jet out there thusfar for FSX. I don't think they were going for the hardcore study-sim market with it.

i have ft 135 and 145, and i have a lot fun fyling with her. quick preparation to flight, sweet vc and exterior graphics and mcphat liveries.when i want to be in the air quickly or don't have much time for ground operations; i pick her from my hangar. terrain radar, tcas, fmc also ok.

Hey Tabs, I'm just a bit curious here, but I'm wondering why pretty much every flightsim developer refuses to tolerate people saying bad things about their competitors, it's a bit odd.
