January 8, 201115 yr Guys, those who on win7 64-bit, did you notice the process doesn't shut off on exit from the game? Unfortunately it has many complications for different reasons in fs9. Any ideas how to make fs9.exe exit and shut down properly? Thanks,Dirk.
January 8, 201115 yr Author Thanks for the answers, btw did you modify the header of your current fs9.exe? Mine is set to handle >2Gb memory from my previous WinXP 32-bit install. Is this tweak not needed on Win7 64-bit?Thanks,Dirk.

I have just tried a version with the >2GB patch, and a version without, and with each, the process continues to run until killed by me using task manager.I haven't been able to find anything about this using Google.Cheers
January 8, 201115 yr Author What's even worse is that there's no strict rule or order, it's intermittent. Sometimes it shutts off on its own, sometime it just runs till I kick it out via task manager. Go figure.Thanks,Dirk.PS: I tried to remove FSUIPC.dll and GoFlight related dll-s to no effect whether in or out. Still intermittent with a slightly better chance of the exe without >2Gb edit.
January 8, 201115 yr Author So, a newer question here is if we still need the >2G edit on Win7 64-bit install? Thanks,Dirk.
January 10, 201115 yr Hi,Are you running Active Camera? This is probably the answer you are looking for on this forumRgds,Hugo
January 11, 201115 yr So, a newer question here is if we still need the >2G edit on Win7 64-bit install? Thanks,Dirk. You most certainly do (to the FS9 executable). BTW, the FS9.exe closes on my Win7 x64 install. FS9 is installed in the root of C: tho, I wonder if that makes a difference.Cheers, SLuggy I do not have a signature. Why are you reading this?
January 11, 201115 yr Its a 64 bit thing, im on vista 64 bit and i currently have 20 chrome.exe(x32) processes in my task manager XD

FS9 exe closes on my W7 64bit , FS9 NOT installed in default location.Bob Bob i5, 16 GB ram, GTX 960, FS on SSD, Windows 10 64 bit, home built works anyway.

I'm suspicious about Wilco's Airbus v1 that I installed already, though I tested it in default situation with Cessna in KSEA.Thanks,Dirk.
January 11, 201115 yr Each tab in Chrome runs in it's own process, 20 tabs loaded = 20 chrome processes. FS9 only needs the LAA (Large Address Aware) mod if you have over 3GB memory. Win7 64 does not require, nor should it have the /3 GB switch. No problems here with FS9 unloading on exit..
