I haven't seen this mentioned anywhere so here goes. I've looked in the manual and can see no mention of a spoiler. Yet / works a treat, in fact it's more efficient than it has a right to be! It's like throwing out an anchor! :( This shouldn't be so eh?
some RW 340 had spoilers added as an aftermarket add-on. Dont know if this model has ben based on such a "spoiler equipt" C340. On the model however you cant see spoiler modeled unless I am missing it.My link

Hey Folks,Flew her 2.6 today @FL180, no weather rad and NO CTD, tried the T/O trim a little fwd, it works but bcare after V2, nosedown like hell...maybe my fault, too much trim down, prefer triming the plane nearly neutral for T/O, working better for me, as for LNG's, 1st kiss today, i didn't feel the touchdown, not so floating, approach at blue line, of course, and at rnwy threshold, thorttle idle => kiss landing. So, for today's flight that was OK except a "heavy" fuel burn, 85knts headwind, only 120 knts GS, a lot of time enjoying sceneries from the VC, just relaxing, have some coffees and some salmon sticks...@Stephen, Thanks for the VC "halo", turned off the stuff, a very clear VC windows.Cheers to all.

LOL..Yves you posted a comment to Stephan about a halo file and cleaning up the VC. Just wanted to know what you did and if this is some special 'halo' file. see the post #92 here above.

Still having CTD's every 20min or so! Anyone here has the same problem?
I also had a CTD before, but today I completly removed the 340 WX Radar gauge out of the panel.cfg and added the RXP WX500 instead, no CTD after 1 1/2 hrs of flight. And yes unlike to the C208 WX radar it can be removed completly and be then retrofitted without crashing sim or corrupting the VC. Works like a charm, just exchange the gauge, same parameters. Hope this helps! ;-)Cheers,Andreas

Best regards,

Yes, I saw that. My Link :( I'm losing track of who posted what but that was a damned good read.Maybe it was Carenado's way of giving the option without having to do the animation or other complicated stuff.

I'm now using original 38 feet of wing span but I'm using Aircraft Air File manager to gradually reduce ground effect. I'll let you know how I get on.
For anyone who wants to try a quick set of tweaks I have done, check the file library tomorrow for C340mods.ZIP which contains a slightly modified ground effect in the air file and a bit more drag and less wing area in the aircraft.cfg. It now lands quite firmly at around 80kts with 10" or so of MAP, which is very close to what i'm seeing in the few Youtube videos of real world landings available. A video of my test approach into Friday harbor is here:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pHju3vTi0o0

Main problem is not the ground effect but the wrong stall speed and its associated angle of attack. The wing area is correct but the table 404 CL vs AoA isn't.

Exactly. +2.

I think someone mentioned this already ... Cowl flap lever push-pull action is reversed. Also, my Wx Radar is completely black:c340_blank_radar.jpgJason

OK the file library rejected my upload because of a missing email or something, never mind I've uploaded it to the other big file library so it should appear tomorrow. It certainly seems to fly by the numbers in normal operations now, stall clean is 79 kts IAS nose drop, and just on the redline mark of 71 kts ful flap, and other numbers don't seem to be affected such as climb and cruise so for my purposes which is to fly roughly by the numbers across the scenery and land realistically at the other end it's all I want until an official mod comes out (if Carenado are in fact adding this problem to their list).

Thank you for the update, it really transforms this thing. Now I can fly it instead of just looking at it.
