February 22, 201115 yr Commercial Member Hi Steve. Thanks - I can cope with my method for now. Not too much of a hassle. Another issue I am having is the very low cruise altitudes I am getting. On an hours flight in an A321 the cruise is shown as 10,000ft with a climb rate of 1800fpm. I then tried a 1.5 hour flight and the cruise was only 20,000ft. Is there any way I can force it to a higher and more realistic level?RegardsMalSet your aircraft flight parameters! Steve Waite: Engineer at codelegend.com
February 22, 201115 yr Commercial Member Steve, could you please make an easier way to select departure time? Something like FSX selection of morning/day/evening/night with taking in account current (chosen) season and position of departure. As it seems now is the only way to choose departure time - in profile settings, which is not convinient. I like to fly at morning or evening because of beautiful sights of sunset/sunrise.Bought your addon already - the idea is great!Noted. However IF does it a different way, it ignores realtime, so you can progess realistically. Instead you set the times between which flights are made, which gives you more sunsets and sunrises without choosing the times, making it more convenient if you prefer to fly this way.Steve. Setting exact times between which flight are made is pretty quirky because (for example) can you guess sunrise time in Alaska on november or sunset time in Mumbai on july? :-)For progress mode this problem is not so critical, yes. But this is the only one among others way of using FSX. February 22, 201115 yr Set your aircraft flight parameters!Hi SteveSorry for being a pain :( but I would appreciate an explanation of the parameters. The help page merely says that the screen provides aircraft settings without an explanation of each. For instance what is the mid and high altitude and how do they relate to the maximum cruise altitude?CheersMal
February 22, 201115 yr Commercial Member Thanks guys,On Routes: As a matter of interest, load the BB58 in IF and set up EGGD to LFRZ with intersections (follow airways) look at the FSX version, and look in the FSX map for the routes available. Then choose VOR to VOR and compare. Also the IF briefing lists local waypoints to assist in navigation, though they are not en-route.On Times: But none the less, the profile page date/time is not far away, and also once in the sim it's easy to set the date/time in the menu, and it won't affect your IF score. (I may make quick Date/TIme setting available in the generator page as well).Great feedback! :( Steve Steve Waite: Engineer at codelegend.com

For the meantime, the climb rates are set for three sectons of the climb. In a Jet the first part would be 0-10,000ft (the mid altitude) max speed 250 (aviation rules). The Upper altitude is the second split of the climb, often the climb rate must be reduced as the aircraft approaches high altitudes or it will stall.Steve Steve Waite: Engineer at codelegend.com

Thank you for your attention to our requests, Steve!IF [jt] uploaded earlier today: I hope you like the new quick time setting feature on the flight generator page, if you change the time there and gen a route, the flight starts then, with no loading time added.Good idea, I like this feature too, thanks again;Steve Steve Waite: Engineer at codelegend.com
February 23, 201115 yr Commercial Member Hi SteveThanks for the tip about sharing the folder to see the briefing on the networked PC. Unfortunately none of the graphics load in the browser using that method. I have saved the briefing page as a complete web document on the laptop and then opened it from there. MalHi Mal,Can you try that shared Flight\New folder with IF [jt], the "_IFlightE.htm" should show the browser with its graphics, the pilot profie and airport maps should work too, I hope. Thanks for helping;Steve Steve Waite: Engineer at codelegend.com

February 27, 201115 yr Passenger and Cargo loads:You set the amount of passengers and cargo by percentage load. If you have 8 seats and want 4 filled, set 50% load.Addons and Ideal Flight:Use IF with any other add-on; for example; Air Hauler is enhanced a great deal with IF. You run Air Hauler, choose your job, generate an IF flight exactly as the job requires; date, time and load. Set the fuel in AH as calculated by IF and launch FSX with Air Hauler. Then run IF’s FSX launcher, now pull down the addon menu and choose Ideal Flight “Restart Flight” menu item. IF then hijacks Air Hauler and you do the flight with IF weather, navs set, fuel loaded, engines started, start on runway, and so on.Steve,I have tried the above method and cant get it to work. Firstly, *generate an IF flight exactly as the job requires; date, time and load.*If AH tells me I need to load 1500lbs of Furniture, I go into Flight Generator and there is an option for payload, 0-100, which I presume is per cent. So how exactly do I get this to equate to 1500lbs of furniture and also in such a way that AH recognises I am carrying furniture (ie the correct cargo and the correct amount)?Secondly, I launch FSX with AH. I'm at the gate. I alt-tab out and hit Fly Now on IF. Then I alt tab back to FSX and select Ideal Flight > Reload Flight. FSX reloads but I dont have any kneeboard briefing, just the usual nav briefing. So what exactly does IF do with AH? I dont see it interfacing with AH at all? Thirdly, how does IF hijack AH?Hope you can help with this Steve.
February 27, 201115 yr Commercial Member I just did a flight in AH, it went OK, I unloaded and got paid, and had 15 gals left of fuel. The IF flight I generated had a % cargo loading that came out to the cargo weight + 150lbs for the pilot. If I need say 1500lb AH cargo and 150lb for pilot = 1650lb (approx) in IF briefing. I started on the runway although in AH the start point was a parking slot, I’m not sure if you can always get away with this and it’s probably best to start where AH expects or it may be deemed cheating by AH. So I elect to fly the job and fill up to the amount in the IF briefing. I am tuning with the Range parameter.AH starts FSX and I’m in the cockpit. Now run the IF flight with the Fly button. Now back in FSX pull down the Alt menu and choose “Start Flight” from the Addons/Ideal Flight menu. The IF flight starts, even though AH is still running, the entire flight is now run from the IF flight files as I said before. Both IF and AH monitor the flight, AH has no idea IF is there. As long as you don’t advance in IF or save/load flight then you get paid for your cargo. What I find is that the cheapest route is direct to destination and so is a bit boring so instead I don’t care about a little extra distance to follow a real route. Also it would be nice to use the advance time feature of IF and not be deemed cheating by AH, does anyone know if a cheat code exists to allow this?Steve Steve Waite: Engineer at codelegend.com
February 27, 201115 yr Commercial Member Steve,So what exactly does IF do with AH? I dont see it interfacing with AH at all? IF does precisely nothing; you don't want anything messing round with AH, FSX, or any other addons at all.Although IF does a lot of stuff, it does not interfere with anything at all.Best regards;Steve Steve Waite: Engineer at codelegend.com
