February 20, 201115 yr Commercial Member *Compare like for like:IF starts FSX with a flight file (.FLT) then loads a couple of Ai planes (from your collection) and loads up the weather, and it's more complex than normal weather too, but impacts less when running, the model is running and you don't access the internet.Turn weather and Ai off and try starting FSX by loadiing a .FLT with or without IF, it makes no difference.Steve Steve Waite: Engineer at codelegend.com
February 20, 201115 yr Commercial Member ...not to mention comparing the time to load FSX after booting up, compared to the second time, much quicker due to caching and so on....and then are you starting in the same plane at the same airport, etc. :( Steve Actually it said "A flight could not be prepared" I set the flight hours to 5, departing from LEBL in my MD-11have you tried 4 hours? Also it's an addon, I am currently cataloguing the differences, Is that MD11 PMDG? I've tested that recently... Steve Waite: Engineer at codelegend.com

Any cold and dark items?Presume you have latest version and fresh index ?Thanks; Steve Steve Waite: Engineer at codelegend.com
February 20, 201115 yr Commercial Member Just in case; I tested loading times with same .FLT, but no difference in load times measureable here... Steve Waite: Engineer at codelegend.com

May be wierd but I have to find that, I've been messing round ... no name at all, things like that.I'll go through new profiles, there's been some additions recently, could easy have missed one out. Thanks a lot for that info Chris, I will find and eliminate.SteveThe flight's I'm getting generated for the MD11 seem really great. I've not had time to get into the PMDG yet, I can't wait! Steve Waite: Engineer at codelegend.com

February 20, 201115 yr Steve,Sorry for not being specific.I run FSX SP2/ REX/ UT2/ GEX/ UTX/ REX Weather Engine /PNW, and just did a test using my RealAir Duke loading into KESN from my saved IF Flt file.Started FSX Manually checked my settings and exited.Started my IF and loaded my bird from KESN total time from Fly Now to in-game 4:51, Hung on loading terrain, etc for most of the time and it also loaded Full screen, but I guess I'm the only one that gets that issue.Manually started FSX and arrived at Free Flight selection screen in 27 seconds and set up my Duke and KESN and intered in-game 20 seconds later. Total time - minus the time it took me to set up= 47 seconds.Love the program, just reporting that there is a big load issue time difference and my hardware is no bottleneck. Not sure if one of my addons is the culprit of the incompatibility.

Not sure if one of my addons is the culprit of the incompatibility. But the main thing; it works! On the profile bug issue; it's possible if an old install of IF is mixed with an install of the later version, then that could have caused the profle confusion. Otherwise I've been unable to find a problem. Will keep checking. Thanks guys; Steve Steve Waite: Engineer at codelegend.com
February 20, 201115 yr Think I'm going to delete my IF install and start anew, see if that helps. Also going to delete my profile. Figured out that my FS doesn't load full screen, but it gets pinned to the taskbar as others have reportedand just the kneeboard (undocked) is visible. Is there a way to stop the kneeboard from automatically popping up? Might stop the pin to taskbar issue.

Might stop the pin to taskbar issue. What aircraft are you using, I get problems with one or two addon aircraft, it's the add-on aircraft at fault.Kneeboard: Cold and dark settings, turn kneeboard off. TRY THIS: After running up FSX from IF pull down the addons menu and do "save aircraft settings" from the IF menu. Then try stating another flight.*Repeat IF does nothing to the way FSX starts, it's just a command line with a .FLT file argument, the .FLT is generated by FSX.Steve Steve Waite: Engineer at codelegend.com
February 20, 201115 yr Commercial Member Regarding the monitor issue: Although only having a couple of reports of that nature, and one does the same thing "IF" running or not, I'm looking into any possibilities. I'm also looking into helping things when starting a flight by perhaps handing FSX focus if it's already running.Steve Steve Waite: Engineer at codelegend.com
