THIS changed FSX for me

Featured Replies

Steve,Tested a flight using IF's similar method of bypassing the welcome screen and entering straight into FS. My load times were extremely long and also FSX got pinned to taskbar. So it appears TO NOT be an IF issue.

Appreciated.I've been testing a lot of things around there.IF does what it can to smooth the experience of starting FSX but ultimately there are one or two ways of experiencing a slight bump in the road. Often simply relaunching FSX again from IF, cures a problem. Thanks again;Steve

Steve, I am unable to use two airports as destinations in IF ("A flight could not be prepared").They are EGKK and EGLL (UK2000 eXtreme Scenery), all other airports seem to be fine (other UK2000 also). If I disable these sceneries in FSX, IF works fine.Any ideas please? Thanks David

Hi, it's something in the scenery that IF does not understand yet. Thanks I will investigate those titles and make an update for them, then anything else like it will work too.I have some UK 2000 and they are ok, but I have not tried those two.Can you tell me precisely which they are? (V2 etc) I'm downloading the current versions for testing...Steve

Sure they are Gatwick v3 and Heathrow v2, the latest versions. In fact it doesn't matter if they are the departure or destination airport, they will fail. You may also want to look at something else (sorry): when I set up a flight from EGKK (default) to LFPG (Aerosoft) IF plotted a straight line flight plan, save for the TOC and TOD, despite having Airways, VOR to VOR selected. One more thing just to keep you busy :(, the Feelthere EMB-170 I'm flying for this tour is only showing "pilot with equipment" as payload, no passengers. Thanks for your help.David

Does the plan get created properly if you use a default LFPG? I've not tested that one (Aerosoft).Another thing with short flights and few routes to follow, you may get a point to point if the aircraft cuises at high alt.Can you send me the .cfg for the plane? It sounds like it has no loadout descriptions. Thanks

OK I've found that confusion about runway direction is down to me, the magnetic variation has become missed off accidently and the brief only shows the true directions - now fixed in next update. Other directions in the brief are adjusted for magvar as the notes suggest. Thanks for the great feedback;Steve

Hi SteveGreat program - purchased it yesterday. Is there anyway to get the browser briefing to show on a separate networked computer? I use a laptop to display all my additions like moving maps and Super Traffic Board so that nothing detracts from the view on the main PC. I would like to refer so the briefing during flight and do not want to "lose" the FSX window.Mal

Hey Steve, I have to concur about the direct path from one airport to another, despite VOR to VOR being selected. Happened to me yesterday.

Hi,Briefing: Get the briefing from the docs\IF\Flights\New directory - share it out.Ruotes: Depend on aircraft cruise speed and altitude and available routes; They don't just join the dots and depend on the alitude of your TOC/TOD.Steve

What's coming shortly to IF:Some UK2000 scenery has presented a problem. This may affect other scenery too - you cannot generate a flight to or from them, this gives the "failed to create flight" error (the map fails to be drawn). Please report. Some aircraft may not show passengers loading - fixed. The MagVar values have been improved in accuracy and runway directions are now magnetic as it suggests in the briefing notes. Thanks for your support; Steve

Hi SteveThanks for the tip about sharing the folder to see the briefing on the networked PC. Unfortunately none of the graphics load in the browser using that method. I have saved the briefing page as a complete web document on the laptop and then opened it from there. Mal

Ahh yes, I will see if that can be improved... Thanks; Steve

Hi Steve. Thanks - I can cope with my method for now. Not too much of a hassle. Another issue I am having is the very low cruise altitudes I am getting. On an hours flight in an A321 the cruise is shown as 10,000ft with a climb rate of 1800fpm. I then tried a 1.5 hour flight and the cruise was only 20,000ft. Is there any way I can force it to a higher and more realistic level?RegardsMal

Steve, could you please make an easier way to select departure time? Something like FSX selection of morning/day/evening/night with taking in account current (chosen) season and position of departure. As it seems now is the only way to choose departure time - in profile settings, which is not convinient. I like to fly at morning or evening because of beautiful sights of sunset/sunrise.Bought your addon already - the idea is great!
