February 25, 201115 yr i dont understand these 2 steps:1. Then you must select VISTA SP2 compatibility mode (MUST!!). You must then run the exe with the command line -Overall (again, MUST!!). where i select "overall"? i have just set compatibility windows 7 in the fsx.exe file. 2. Once you have done all of the above, rerun the windows assessment tool via a cmd prompt: winsat formal -restart cleanps. how can i change the colour text from red to black?

I'd be cautious about running programs that you do not know / understand. Not sure the advice given is universally beneficial... Bert
February 25, 201115 yr Nick N has been saying to turn off HT since the dawn of i7 Glenn Ryzen 3700X, X570 Pro Wifi, 32GB 3600mhz RAM, Nvidia Titan Xp "Galactic Empire", RM750x PSU, H700 case, 2x NVMe M2 SSD, 1x SATA SSD
February 26, 201115 yr I did the BIOS change and it gave me about 40% better performance. Thanks! I had a system crash, though. If this will happen too often I will undo the changes
February 26, 201115 yr If you own an SSD use IDE.Maybe those who ran tests don't own an SSD drive. If you want slower performance with your SSD drive, then go right ahead.Low fps, for me, was a result of not having a powerful computer that could run FSX and all the great add-ons.Stutters is the result of not setting the right bufferpools setting in the cfg. Once you find the right settings, fps go up and stutters go down. MSFS

February 27, 201115 yr Hello,I also experienced stutters and turning off "Vanderpool Technology" option in bios fixed this for me.~Polmer
February 27, 201115 yr My I ask you what you have your BF's set to? And what is a good setting of them for a Q9650 @3,0 GHZ?Thank YouBP is system specific and you will have to experiment with your system. My BP is set to BP=10000. However, I recommend that you test the following on your system:[bUFFERPOOLS]RejectThreshold=524288 Try:524288262144 126976 98304Lower number may cause flashes. Experiment with a value that will work for your system.Set water in FSX to high 2x, then try a lower setting for higher fps. MSFS
February 27, 201115 yr Its weird. I have read about the turning off HT. I have tried 3 or 4 times with it on and off. Each time I get about 5-7 fps better with HT ON.
February 27, 201115 yr If you set the controller to IDE Mode instead of AHCI, TRIM will not work anymore. TRIM is essential for live and performance of an SSD.
