P-51

Featured Replies

Hi guys, after playing a lot IL-2 with the P-51 and it´s derivations (definitely the best plane), I´m now searching for a good P-51 for FSX. Maybe someone can point me towards a good rendition which isn´t a big framerate hog.

Best regards, Steffen

I'm sure there are several more, but two good ones I am aware of are the http://www.a2asimulations.com P-51 and an excellent freeware version by Warwick Carter available here at Avsim http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?CatID=fs2004ac&DLID=95845. Carter's version got attention and some nice textures from Gary Smith http://www.gjsmith.net/Textures/P-51D.htm, plus lots more from other authors. Flight1 published an apparently good version as well that I haven't used.

A2A is currently developing an Accusim version of their P-51D which, when released, will be the best there is. I don't know when it will be released though... They just released an Accusimmed Spitfire, which is just magnificent.

I don't know if it's hype (don't think so) but agree that the A2A Accusim P-51 seems to be getting along towards release and gets quite a bit of buzz.scott s..

I'm holding on to my $$$ till The A2A Pony w/t Accu-Sim is out.Untill then I'll be busy Overheating/ Blowing up V-12 Merlin engines with their incredible MkI and MkII Spitfire!!Big%20Grin.gif

There is also the Warbirdsim P-51 (B/C and D).I am not an expert, just got the "D" and think its cool.At least it is very light regarding FPS, has a pretty decent model and VC.

The A2A Spitfire is fantastic and their P51 for FS9 was one of my favorites, so I can't wait to see what their accusim plane is like. Life is too short to buy secondrate aircraft!Cheers,Noel.

WOA, the warbirdsim P-51 B/C versions look great. I like this versions most in IL-2,m they´re a bit better to control as the D version. But an A2A P-51D for only 18$, which makes only arround 13€ is just a great deal. And also the posibility got get an accu-sim upgrade is really nice. How hard is the A2A version on the framerates? I have also the freeware version downloaded, but she´s giving me very low rates. Maybe it´s because it´s an portover?Bye for now, hunting some enemies in the P-51...

Oh man, I thought this would be a great deal, but no. Well, then I´ll have to ait some time to get the P-51 with accusim. Just watched some of their videos. It´s not real what for an effort they´re makeing! That´s just not real. This is reality indeed! I´ll buy the P-51 right away as the Turbine Duke. Hopefully both come in soon! But it seems that I have to get an face traking software to get the most out of their VC´s, they´re absolutely stunning.

I don't see any hit here. Still locked at 35. It really is a remarkable addon. I can't imagine how cool the F-104 and F-4 will be.

Warbirdsim P-51's , -B/C and -D are, IMHO, some of the best, WWII warbirds avilable for FSX, and are available now
