What you see is what you get and they look incredible. I don't believe the RXP Sandel work in FSX anyway but moot point since it wouldn't be possible. February 28, 201115 yr PS : Out of content question :Is it possible to upgrade from RXP GNS 530 to Unlimited WAAS without having to pay full price ?I believe that the Unlimited WAAS is an upgrade to the GNS 530, allowing you to use either two GNS 530s, two GNS 430s, or one 530 and one 430 in the same panel independently. This of course depends on what you already own. Explanation follows:GNS 530 ($50) + WAAS Unlimited ($100) = Two independent GNS 530s operating in the same aircraft at a total cost of $150GNS 430 ($50) + WAAS Unlimited ($100) = Two independent GNS 430s operating in the same aircraft at a total cost of $150GNS 530 ($50) + GNS 430 ($50) + WAAS Unlimited ($100) = GNS 530 and GNS 430 operating independently in the same aircraft but able to share information using Crossfill and TCAS (traffic) information added to the functionality at a cost of $200.However, purchasing the GNS 530, GNS 430 and WAAS Unlimited is still way below the cost of the real GNS 430... :) Philip Manhart :American Flag: - "Wise men talk because they have something to say; fools, because they have to say something." ~ Plato

February 28, 201115 yr With this amount of money i could spend a romantic weekend with my girlfriend in a luxury bungalow 5 meters from the sea.Which also ends on Monday.Or you could spend the same money on something that would, in effect, last forever.
February 28, 201115 yr Author Or you could spend the same money on something that would, in effect, last forever.Or also, if you had 30 more bucks you can have the PMDG FSX :- MD11- 747X- JS413 hardcore planes, that took years to develop, against a GPS unit that is for sale at 50$ as a stand-alone unit...Benjamin
February 28, 201115 yr Thanks for your answer.Spend 150$ just to have a smaller extra GPS unit is "for me" crazy...Reality XP should really change its pricing policy and offer more option "I don't need TCAD nor FS9 compatibility" BenjaminYou know, I totally agree! The pricing to me seems way out of whack, especially when it comes to the "Unlimited" option. If you spend $100 for the 430 and the 530, you would think that for $100 you would get full functionality. Ridiculous to spend another $100 ($200 total) for them to work together. (Cross Fill). Now if you wanted two 430's together or 530's, I might be more understanding. But still, it seems to me if you purchased a 430 and the unlimited pack(2 add'l licenses) you should be able to run two 430's together, a 430/530 combo, or a single 430 or 530. What you wouldn't be able to do is run two 530's. Just my $.02
February 28, 201115 yr I'm always saying that at RXP's forum and I'm going to tell this here also. These GPS and the Cross-fill capability were originally created for Professional Use. 1 Hour on a FTD for training/practice with the 430W pays for RXP 430W and Unilimited that you can use for as long as you want. Some people keeps resisting to understand what really is the value of RXP GPS and Unlimited Package. You're not buying a FS toy, you are buying somethign that a real pilot, or someone working towards his IFR uses for training.RXP doesn't force you to buy the Unlimited package and they charge only $45 for unlimited access to a GPS that in real life costs around $8,000.00 + Installation that can easily double that price. Boht 430W and 530W have 99.999% functionality comparing with their real world counterparts, in fact the only function that I miss is the RAIM Prediction, but at least we can access the page. So If you don't use the powerful features that this GPS has to offer, you only have it for the moving map and Direct TO function you are better with FS default GPS for free.It could be a lot of money for what you will need, but this is in NO WAY an overpriced product...regards,Igor

If after buying the gauges, I had to pay 300-400 bucks to use everything in the same time, no thanksBenjamin

However, they are very well priced considering what it costs for real flight training, and they are actually helping me with mine. For a student pilot like myself, and many others who are doing flight training or are real-world pilots who want real GNS functionality, they are a real steal! February 28, 201115 yr Author RXP doesn't force you to buy the Unlimited package and they charge only $45 for unlimited access to a GPS that in real life costs around $8,000.00 + Installation that can easily double that price. For me the RXP GNS 530 is great value for FSX, but please don't compare it with a real high tech hardware product that will be with you for 15-20 years when MS flight is coming soon and we gonna have to pay everything again.but this is in NO WAY an overpriced product...I'm sorry but, if I just want to use the 430 as a TAWS and the 530 as a GPS, 100$ to connect them is a lot.BenjaminPS : There is a simple solution to this ! If Reality XP would sell 3-4 different version of the GNS with option, and the possibility to upgrade.
February 28, 201115 yr I understand what you are saying BenjaminAs I said on RXP forums I think that the whole issue was created due to a small "mistake" made by RXP when they eliminated the Professional version. What they "should" have done was to increase the price of the units and include just the cross-fill capability and leave the other features for the Unlimited Package for half the price or something like that, and not just eliminate the Professional, and offer ALL the features in the Unlimited Package for $100.This is just my opinion, I'm not a business man, I'm a pilot and that's the only thing that I know how to do. I'm pretty sure that RXP know what their doing and they have the right to offer they way they want to.So at the end, you, pmanhart, me and everybody else are right and wrong at the same time... we are right stating that it is really cheap if you are using as a training device not comparing the prices individually like 45 for the unit and 100 for cross-fill but instead $145 for the full unit, and you are right on questioning their pricing and business policy.regards,IgorEDIT: PS : There is a simple solution to this ! If Reality XP would sell 3-4 different version of the GNS with option, and the possibility to upgrade.I agree 100%! The problem is not the price, but the way it is offered...regards,Igor
