PMDG Liv Installer

Featured Replies

Hey Guys,I suggest that PMDG make a livery installer software to be used with it's adds because for example 747-4/8i, MD-11....etc have a huge number of liverys and that make us tired either with installation or uninstall.but if PMDG make that software the installation will be much easier and faster if we select all and install them, I hope you will work on it.Thanx :)

Agreed! We need something like the level d 767 livery installer.

+1Yea! Ideally it would be a small module with a list of available liveries and a thumbnail and a checkbox. We could check the boxes on the liveries we want, and then the module would download and automatically install the liveries. (A reference was made to lvld. I don't have any of their products, so I wouldn't know if their method would be better. IDK so I made my own suggestion.)

Really? I personally find the Level D a bit of a pain in the rear. Once you download your livery, you got to copy and paste into a folder inside FS, so you have to navigate your way into the main FS folder, plane folder, then start up the repaint manager, and then install it. PMDG, download the installer and double click done. Doesn't seem so hard to me. But this is just my opinion among many, not trying to start an argument.

It's because the liveries you install are shown in the "Add/Remove Programs" at Control Panel. To avoid this, many people, myself included, install all the tens of liveries, copy the respective airplane folder from Simobjects to another folder, uninstall the liveries, one by one, and then copy the backup folder back to Simobjects. It can take from few minutes to half an hour depending on the number of liveries you want to add. I know it's nothing compared to the amount of work that PMDG has been having developing the NGX, but it's a turn down. You lose practicly all the desire you have to fly the plane.

There's a solution for all this coming... it'll be expandable to all the previous products too (won't happen right away though).

I have seen them in there, but never really bothered me much, don't do that much with the add/remove programs dealy. Oh well, different preferences for different folks!

When they release the NGX, they should do a list of features that they did not incorporate. I bet it would be a pretty short one. I think they are trying to get a certification from FAA LOL.gif.

Actually, I've been trying to keep up with reading their FB page. They provide some information in response to people's questions there, that they don't or haven't mentioned here. One of the responses PMDG gave was that the ONLY thing that they couldn't incorporate was the WXR. Also, someone presumed that it would be between 100 and 120 euro, and PMDG said that or would be a lot less. These are two prices of info that are sought after here in the forums, that were plainly answered on FB. For this reason, I highly advise everyone to check out their FB page regularly and look for PMDG's responses.

I noticed that too. I saw the answer PMDG gave about price, but I missed the first one about the WXR. I'll keep checking their FB page.
