Eaglesoft Citation X (V1) hangup

Featured Replies

The Eaglesoft Citation X, V1 will not fly satisfactory on my new computer with Windows 7 ( 64 bit). It hangs up VERY often ! ) I've tried to fix but it but have not been able to so. Too bad, it was one of my favorite Fs2004 Aircraft. Could someone suggest a good replacement for this aircraft that will fly satisfactory on Windows 7 (64 bit). Thanks jerrycwo4

Not sure what your problem is Jerry but we've been running the FS9 and FSX versions of CX2.0 on Win 7 64 bit without issue for years now. Hope we can help in the support forums.:(

For reasons unknown I can NOT log into the Eaglesoft Forum so I'll have to reply here. The Eaglesoft X (v1) is the ONLY aircraft I have in both FS2004 and FSX that does NOT fly satisfactory. It hangs UP BAD on my Windows 7 , 64 bit computer. Too bad this is one of my favorite aircraft, but I have figgured out a so, so work around that works most of the time. I hate "work arounds" but sometimes you have to use them.I have an elabrate flight sim system that uses 4 monitors: 3 - 26" monitors for the flight system and a 17" monitor for my GPS. To make the Eaglesoft X fly fairly well( most of the time) I had to pull my Garman 500 GPS onto the 17" monitor and open the "throttle" window ( ctrl/5) and make it smaller and drag it to the bottom of the VC cockpit window. Of course this took at least 15 trys and restarts of Fs2004 to get this done because of lockups. When I got these two things like I wanted them, I SAVED the flight and now when I selct this "flight" these two windows are where I want them at the start of the flight.Of course the Citation X will freeze and lock up if I try to start RC4 (Radar Contact 4) with the Citation X up and running so I have to select the Cessna 182 aircraft, bring RC4 up, then I can start the Citation X up and select an airport that has good features to line up my right and left hand monitors for the correct views on my 3 monitors, then I select the flight that I want to make and everytings works fairly well. Sometimes when openning a window for the radio or to turn on the landing lights, the computer will lock up again and I have to start the whole thing over, but most of the time I can make the complete flight OK. It's a lot of "messing around" but that's what it takes for me to fly the Eaglesoft Citation X (v1). About a year ago I bought the version 2 of this aircraft but found it too complication to be enjoyable for me. jerrycwo4

If you are trying to log in to ES forums with an old login you will have to re-register. The forum was hacked a while back and all logins were lost...DJ

Very strange since we've been running our FS9 and FSX Corporate Jets on Win7 64 for years without issue or lockup.:( Suspect that there is another cause which may not be obvious to users.....:(

Jerry, reregistration is required since the hack and the note in the forum announcements section.Sounds like you are asking Win7 64, RC4, Multimonitor, and FS to do a lot of things they may not wish to do well together...:(

Not sure what cause this would be as I never had any issues whatsoever on my previous system. So what may I ask is this "not obvious" issue you speak of?

I can repeat my previous statements but can shed no further light on what may or may not be obvious to users.....:(

"My add-on worked on my previous system. I've changed my system and now it doesn't so the add-on's faulty"Really?

I've trying everything to get into the ES form, reregistering ect. It always says, "that password, username or email address has already been used.....du........yea, by me ! It will not give me a new password or let me re-register.... I'm STUCK ! jerrycwo4I know that I'm asking my new computer to do a lot of things, togather, at one time, BUT it will do it with all other aircraft except the Eagle soft Citation X. ????? jerrycwo4I cannt change my computer setting just for ONE aircraft. I'm doing so so with the "work around".

Im sympathise with your problem with dumb computer systems, I let my paid subscription to a motoring club lapse and now I can't rejoin because that password, username or email address has already been used and the administrators are clueless. On the other hand, where on your FS2004 case does it say it will run under Win 7?

Is a bit strange.I have a similar multi-monitor problem with the ES Citation X that I posted many months ago on the Eaglesoft forum as well as others. I am afraid nobody had a solution. This problem is not present with any other aircraft including the other Eaglesoft Citations as well as dozens of other third party pay and freeware aircraft, ONLY the Citation X.In FS9 ONLY, with the Eaglesoft Citation X if I try to move a secondary window (i.e. Throttle Quad. RadioStack, etc.) to a secondary monitor, it fails and my primary monitor goes black. FS9 or the computer must be restarted to fly again. I have the same bird, same setup in FSX, and there is no problem. Window options can be made on multiple-monitors in any configuration desired and work beautifully. Being that I can still fly this fine contribution in FSX, I chose to pursue a solution no longer.Good luck:RTH

Same problem here. Try my workaround above. It works pretty good. That being said, WHAT IS ANOTHER AIRCRAFT THAT LOOKS ABOUT AS GOOD (BUSINESS JET) FOR FS2004 ?

I got 2 ideas for you but they are only exterior models... They are very good. Too bad the developer did not go further to enhance these beautiful payware quality models. There are some good 2D panels out there though. Citation Sovereign and Citation Excel XLS. You can get them in the AVSIM library.aryus_works_citation_sovereign.ziparyus_c56x_airpink_yu-bzm.zip
