Updates to other PMDG Products?

Featured Replies

I was just wondering that now with the obvious improvements created for NGX, are there any plans in the future to update the 747 or MD-11?

Don't hold your breath. For the NGX PMDG designed a complete new "building model" and design philosophy. I'm no expert on this at all, but my guess is that updating the 747X and MD11 to the NGX standard would basically mean a complete rebuild of those models.

As far as i know there is going to be a complete rebuild of The 747 including 8i and 8f
Who told you that? PMDG have already stated that the 747 has no chance of being updated or rebuilt at all. They haven't said anything about a MD-11 or J41 V2.0, though, but who knows. However I don't see a big service pack coming for any of their previous products in the near future because they are already busy with the Dash-8, the 777 and the secret project. By the way, how is it doing? :(

We do want to remake the 747 at some point like we've now done with the 737. The original 747 code is about 6 years old now.

Hummm... For some reason I remeber Randazzo saying that a rebuild of the 747 would not happen. So... Sorry Matias for the wrong information :(.

There's going to be a small J41 service pack that fixes a few things yes - this is not a major update. It's a new set of gauges that fix some rare CTD issues, and a new VC model that fixes some shimmering issues and issues with the rain/icing.

Rember that with The NGX they are working in a new way of coding their software so The NeXT airplane may come faster than The NGX
