May 26, 201115 yr Thanks for all the insights...this is shaping up to be a very exciting project. Can't wait to take delivery at my virtual hangar! It occurs to me that PMDG has gotten very good at working around the various limitations in FS over the years. Some examples off the top of my head: The "ground effect" acceleration mentioned here in the NGX The correct modeling of turboprop behavior in the JS41 (condition levers vs. thrust levers) Probably others the PMDG team could share with us, if they wanted to Not to mention many other FS deficiencies that are outside the normal scope of PMDG's products, such as correct weather modeling.I don't know what the future holds with the next MS flight sim product (MS Flight!) - but it seems to me that PMDG has a lot of experience in working around the flaws or limitations in the current FS product line. Seems PMDG would be a valuable resource as a consultant on future MS flight sim products - or perhaps even developing their own, ultra-realistic flight simulation product. Pie in the sky stuff, I know - and perhaps outside of PMDG's domain of interest. I marvel at the detail that PMDG puts into their products, and look forward to each one with great anticipation.
May 26, 201115 yr My first flight with the NGX will be an acceptance check flight based on the CFS-300 from CAA's Check Flight Schedules. Well, today I took it to school to read and visualise how the check flight will be and I found two "multiple choice" requirements there about the engines and I need to know the right option in order the execute the tests according to the schedule. The first one is: which model of the CFM56-7B engine was installed in the NGX? The -7B26 or -7B27? And the type of cumbustor is single annular (SAC) or double annular (DAC)? Depending on the engine model, the thrust indexes will be different and depending on the type of cumbustor, the altitude of the engine #2 relight test will be different. Matheus Mafra
