Very cool waikiki beach looks great in pic 3 :(

Its starting to look very limited. Its always Hawaii & a little GA plane. I bet it includes moronic missions aim at attracting the masses. Which it will fail at. AGAIN.Where are the jets? Where's the weather? Where's the AI Improvements. While it does look a bit better than FSX, its certainly very little effort & definitely the same crap 15 year old GFX engine with tweaks.2.99 for the Ipad, maybe. As a replacement for FSX, No way.

For pete's sake! They've given us a handful of screenshots, two videos, and limited information! Look at it from a realistic point of view. They are showing one location at the moment. So? Better than seeing nothing. Jets? Obviously they are not yet at a point to show their more complex aircraft at a risk of loosing the huge number of casual players. Weather? Umm...dude, look at the clouds and sky. AI improvements....not sure you can show AI improvements with screenshots.Engine definitely looks updated in many aspects, but I would say the shader system got the major treatment, which is not a problem. Better and more efficient shaders will give better performance. Since we have come to the conclusion that there will be an SDK for Flight, (in a previous thread) add-ons should be possible in Flight. While I know I will not dump FSX immediately no matter how good Flight is, Flight will for sure be a replacement for some.

So Thruster will you purchase Flight on the first day it is out or on the second day?(And some still wonder why MS doesn't participate here)

Guys some of you still don't get it?? and I'm not saying this to be ugly.MS can't make Flight with everything we want...why will you ask?....because they are opening a store to sell add-ons so if they do give us everything we want what will be left for the developers to do...a big nothing = nothing to sell in the store.Better sky, with clouds shadow, volumetric clouds, overcast, better waves, better water, = no REX for Flight in the store just to take this one as an example.Why will MS give us everything when they just have to make a good engine with SLI compatibility (DX10) sit on their as$ and colect a part of the $ from the add-ons the developers will sell in the store. Yes Flight is an improvement from FSX visual wise but nothing like we would like to see, ok ok Flight is not finished yet BUT still we will not get everything we want just because of the fact that they are opening a store to sell and make money.....:Whew:By giving us everything we want they will shoot themself in the foot...:(

It all looks too much like FSX or even FS9.I was hoping for a rewrite. Clean slate. Something fresh that looks & feels completely different. This is just a cut down slightly polished Island area from FSX. I hope I'm wrong, but so close to shipping in FALL 2011. By now, I'd have expected to see more scope than just an island & Bi-plane.

Maybe I need to start up FS2000 and post some screens with clouds, because I'm pretty sure the clouds are not the same as 10 years ago. They do look like a slight improvement over FSX in some shots though. With the shader improvements for aircraft rendering, it's getting harder to say that it looks like FS9 and FSX. Have you seen the comparison shots I did a while back? Well, if you haven't, take a look. Who ever is writing the shaders seems to know what they are doing this time around.Microsoft claims they are writing from the ground up with some things inspired from the old code. So, technically, yes. They are starting fresh for the most part. Being an add-on developer and "knowing" the sim inside and out, it appears this is more than just a polished island area from FSX with a biplane. I would hope I'm not wrong, but you never know.

Even without a virtual store .. MS wouldn't give us everything we want. We all know this by past versions content.   So yes, you have a firm grip on the obvious. :(

Yeap! and the small pink hotel on the right (on the beach) is called the Pink Palace (Royal Hawaiian), I stayed there in 1998, beautifull hotel, one of the oldest one in Hawaii if not the oldest one.http://www.royal-hawaiian.com/You can see it in pic. 3 from MS.

One thing im NOT seeing, cloud shadows We cant have it all I guess? Its still early, I hope.

Its a feature you can turn on and off. :) But seriously I would love to have the atmosphere and ground get really dark when cloudy. Its still sunny textures under the clouds.
