June 9, 201115 yr Hi all,Just to let you know that the boxed version of the Comet Jetliner is being put together right now in our factory and will be sent out to those of you that have pre-ordered it this afternoon. ThanksRichThank you for that reassurance as I was wondering what had happened to my pre-order as no mention in the e-mailshots.Cannot wait to lay my hands on this. Rick Almeida
June 11, 201115 yr I am experiencing a minor problem with the Comet. It is something that I have occasionally noticed with other planes, but I can't remember how to correct it. In short, I have reduced the fuel load to 50 per cent, and removed the passengers and baggage....but now the plane pulls slightly to the left. It does this in both directions on the runway, so it is not the wind (which is set to zero knots anyway).Does anyone know what I need to do to solve this problem? June 11, 201115 yr Check your Realism settings. Torque and P-Factor will pull you to the left. - Dean P3Dv4 & XP11 space
June 11, 201115 yr Torque and P-Factor seem to be related to propellors...at least according to the realism settings blurb. Further tests have revealed that the plane starts pulling to the left when I reduce the fuel load to 50 per cent (and leave the payload untouched). It accelerates straight down the runway centreline with the default 100 per cent. June 11, 201115 yr I have just realised why the plane is pulling to the left. The two centre tanks are not identical in size, so reducing both to 50 per cent results in an asymmetrical weight shift. If I keep both centre tanks at 100 per cent, the "left pull" vanishes. I assume that must be automatically controlled in flight, otherwise the plane would start to pull to the left as fuel in the centre tanks is used... June 11, 201115 yr Well, leaving the centre tanks at 100 per cent allows the plane to stay on the centreline on the runway, but it doesn't seem to be able to fly in a straight line after take off. It looks like it's flying straight, but it ends up deviating way off course (compared to the position of the runway). How on Earth do I get this thing to fly in a perfectly straight line (like my other payware planes)? This is essential for saving landing approaches... June 11, 201115 yr Well, that doesn't appear to be the cause of the problem. The plane still deviates off line after take off, whether I have Torque and P-Factor at 0 per cent or 100 per cent. June 11, 201115 yr It appears that the plane makes a very, very gentle turn to the right using the default figures for fuel and payload. This is so subtle that it can hardly be detected from the cockpit, but it is obvious when setting spot view to look back at the runway. I guess I will just have to wait until Monday before I can get a response from Just Flight. June 11, 201115 yr If you have a registered version of FSUIPC you could individually create an 'aircraft specific' calibration. Go to the aileron tab and dial in some left trim to hold her level. - Dean P3Dv4 & XP11 space
June 11, 201115 yr Today is the 11th.Has anyone who ordered a boxed version from Just Flight which was advertised in their advertising spiel as being due to be released on the 10th received their order as yet? Or this as usual Just Flight's empty spiel on release dates? I'll forgive them it being the weekend but if I have not seen delivery by Monday,to say that I will be thoroughly p***ed off will be putting it mildly! Rick Almeida
June 11, 201115 yr This bird looks great, and I love the retro craft a bunch. Quick question since I am mostly a 2d cockpit flyer: Al mentioned that there are some decent saved 2d views; are they full panel that have a true 2d feel to them? I am just curious since I really want this bird, but I can't seem to pry myself away from the 2d cockpit. I know I am outdated but I just love the 2d view.Cheers, Pete Pete Solov - Lake in the Hills 3CK and Schaumburg Regional 06CProud AOPA Member - PPL 2001Real World Piper Cherokee Pilot
June 11, 201115 yr Rick,I received my boxed copy at 12:45 pm today. Chances are high that it's the Royal Mail who have let you down, not Just Flight.
