Agree. I couldn't use the beta in that it caused my vid-card to throttle. The new drivers work very well so far.

Danny

So far so good for me, too. All of the problems I had with the 275.21 beta are gone.

I believe you guys that these are good drivers but I'm going to hold on the beta (275.27) as they are still great and heard about some texture flashing with HIGHMEMFIX=1 issues with these. Maybe just a fluke report and will probably upgrade over the weekend. Cheersjja

Well, I spoke too soon. I'm still seeing the frame rate crashes in the 2D panel...seems to happen when switching back to 2D from VC or spot view. Swapping between full-screen and windowed, or ALT-tabbing out of FSX momentarily always restores the frame rates in 2D back to normal when this happens. It doesn't always get hit when switching back to 2D, but when it does, it stays in the single digits until I do something to interrupt the 3D rendering.275.21 did the same thing--270.61 does not.

Interesting problem there Bob. I don't use 2-D panels but will try it on the beta drivers. Who knows what driver fluke causes this but this confirms the importance of driver version when it comes to FSX.Cheersjja

This is not a good driver for me as it does not "hold" after fresh installation and restart, the desktop looks muddled and when I open a document or browse the internet there is a horrible buzz to the image as though the refresh rate is set way too low. I have never experienced this after installing a new driver.I install an nVidia driver the "old fashioned way" by uninstalling the driver, deleting the nVidia folder, rebooting into safe mode and using Driver Cleaner to remove the old reg files. I then reboot and install the new driver. I understand that one can now install these drivers over the old one without any issues but I like to do things like I always have, but that could change of course should anyone object.I use MSI Afterburner to control the fans that are installed but I do not use it to control clock settings.Core Voltage = MINCore Clock = 607MHzShader Clock = 1215MHzMemory Clock = 1674MHzWould anyone recommend any settings for my GPU or should I just leave it as is?I am currently reinstalling v266.58 hopefully that clears things up. After installing the driver I deleted FSX.cfg and restarted FSX so it could build a new .cfg, while editing my .cfg I got a BSOD. under "problem Reports and Solutions" the explanation was the nVidia driver stopped working properly. I am beginning to wonder if perhaps my EVGA GTX 470 is starting to crap out, any thought's?

Well...I was sort of holding off when some had a 'hit' or 'miss' with this set....but curiosity (it always does....) hit, and I thought what the heck...jump in, the water is warm.I downloaded them, rebooted, reset nVidia Inspector (the latest version) and all is well. The frame rates stay for the most part in and around the FPS Limiter setting of 30 in most situations. I haven't experienced the 2D-3D lag as has been posted earlier on. No other artifact issues as well. They seem to be pretty solid on an i975/GTX285 platform. The suite renders a nice visual quality on the whole. There was one older suite that I thought to this point...gave the best visual quality (including counting this latest driver suite in...) with my GTX285 card. I am now considering leaving notes and impressions on file so I can review them. I sure wish I knew/remembered which older suite it was. If I did...I would just merely stay with that one, as I have no intentions of (very happy with its performance...) replacing my GTX285 anytime soon.I wonder if it was the 197.45's? I might have to just download and install again to find out....damn this curiosity thing...lol!Mitch

I used their custom clean install. Driver seems to work fine. No issues. Can't say it's any better or worse than the previous one.Vic
