June 6, 201115 yr I'd like to share some 737 shots that I took on my last visit to Southern Illinois University. This particular Boeing 737-200 was donated to the University by United Airlines back in 1994. Enjoy! Paul Kawalec Chicago O'Hare Int. Airport . Last flight: 6-11-11 - B737-700 - Southwest Airlines #2139 - KMDW -> KTPA
June 6, 201115 yr Very cool! Thanks for sharing! I wasn't aware SIU had an aviation program. Our school has an old retired Fed Ex 727-100... I don't know how many times I've sat in that thing and started it up, but it's got to be near ten. ___________________________________________________________________________________ Zachary Waddell -- Caravan Driver -- Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/zwaddell Avsim ToS Avsim Screenshot Rules

This plane would it be if I had enough money. Best regards, Steffen Fight time: NGX 737-700: 37,0h; -800: 47,2h
June 6, 201115 yr Am I the only who can't see the pictures?I was having the same issue until I found out that I had to sign up to Imageshack to be able to see the pictures. Nice pics, btw. It's hard to believe that the -200 and the NGs belong to the same family. Their flight decks have very few things in common. The distance between the technologies is huge. Matheus Mafra

June 7, 201115 yr I see one VOR NAV frequency selector. Can that be right? I see it on the captain's side of the pedastal. Where is the other? Steve Perry PMDG Beta Team

June 7, 201115 yr Damn, my UNI only had a couple of peacocks running around the campus... until someone run over them with his car. That's awesome. thanks for sharing
June 7, 201115 yr Author I'm glad you guys enjoyed it. Honestly, the overhead panel is almost identical as the one on the 737NG. Throttle panel hasn't changed much either. Paul Kawalec Chicago O'Hare Int. Airport . Last flight: 6-11-11 - B737-700 - Southwest Airlines #2139 - KMDW -> KTPA
June 7, 201115 yr Author What do they use the aircraft for?The aircraft is used by students focusing on engineering, so they power up the airplane to visualize how systems work. Occasionally, they turn on the engines and taxi around the airport. Paul Kawalec Chicago O'Hare Int. Airport . Last flight: 6-11-11 - B737-700 - Southwest Airlines #2139 - KMDW -> KTPA

June 7, 201115 yr I see one VOR NAV frequency selector. Can that be right? I see it on the captain's side of the pedastal. Where is the other?the other is there, on the first officer side of the pedestal, "below" the engine 2 fire extinguisher;on first sight, we mismatch it with the standby first officer VHF COMM frequency, but with attention you can note that the FO COMM radio doesn't have standby frequency like the one on the captain's side... there's only an active COMM frequency and an active NAV frequency, no standby ones to the first officerRegards,Marcelo Monteiro
