June 15, 201114 yr I really like the Carenado planes, if you are looking for a GA plane consider the Diamond DA20-100 Katana 4X over at Aerosoft....it's very good albeit on the slow side, 120kts maxAnd if you want something faster then I have to recommend ORBX´s Lancair...excellent addon. I also own Katana 4X and love it. It has many "not seen before" features.Best RegardsIvan Barsovsky Ivan Barsovsky
June 16, 201114 yr Everybody, thank you so much for your help, I also have another question, which is better for GA aircraft, Carenado or RealAir?To answer your question, I personally have a number of great Carenado aircraft and both models of the RealAir Duke. The me, the RealAir is more my favorite because their cockpit has very complete and accurately modeled avionics and systems to accomplish just about any kind of GA flight you could want to do. I do like Carenado's aircraft too, and find they faithfully reproduce the aircraft but most tend to have older avionics. Nothing wrong with that. Just all depends on what and how you fly.Downside is that the RealAir tends to have a greater FPS hit from what I've seen. Tony
June 16, 201114 yr RealAir's flight modeling is also notably better than Carenado's. Alan Ampolsk"Ah, Paula, they are firing at me!"-- Saint-Exupery
June 16, 201114 yr I have just reinstalled the e-jets V1 I bought ages ago, it's not bad at all.Does the 170/190 differ wildly from the V2 175/195? Would I be wasting my money on something that's essentially the same thing-ish?Chris Farrell Chris Farrell
June 16, 201114 yr +1 for Realair. Love the original Duke and the Duke Turbine. Don't rate Carenado at all, nice looking planes but the flight models are never very good "out the box". If you don't have the J41, I don't think any other aircraft comes close, unless you want something that is easier to learn. -Iain Watson-
June 16, 201114 yr Everybody, thank you so much for your help, I also have another question, which is better for GA aircraft, Carenado or RealAir?If you appreciate good models and occasionally good flight modeling, go for Carenado, if you appreciate good models and good flight modeling all the time, go for RealAir.Having said that, many people tweak up Carenado aeroplanes to sort the flight models out and you can find info about that kicking around on various forums, besides which, it'd be unfair to say they all have dodgy flight modeling, because some of them are great.Incidentally, head over to Just Flight this month and you'll find several Carenado aircraft on sale at dirt cheap prices, including their very nice Bonanza - ten quid if I recall correctly.Al Alan Bradbury Check out my youtube flight sim videos: Here
June 16, 201114 yr Everybody, thank you so much for your help, I also have another question, which is better for GA aircraft, Carenado or RealAir?You'll get varying opinions on that hehe. I'm a GA guru though(95% on vatsim), so let me toss out a few recommendations (these are basically the bee's knees imho):1) RealAir Duke (piston and turbine - turbine is newer thus updated graphics)http://www.realairsimulations.com/duket10/intro.php?page=duket10_intro2) Orbx Lancair IV-Phttp://fullterrain.com/product_lancair.html3) Aerosoft Diamond Katana 4x (this plane is sick!!!)http://en.shop.aerosoft.com/eshop.php?action=article_detail&s_supplier_aid=11388&s_design=DEFAULT&shopfilter_category=Flight%20Simulation4) Flight1 Mustang (and upcoming T182)http://www.flight1.com/products.asp?product=f1mustanghttp://www.simforums.com/forums/cessna-skylane-tc_topic39267.html5) RealAir Scout + SF260 (dated now but a solid native FSX aircraft)http://www.realairsimulations.com/flash.php?page=scout07_introhttp://www.realairsimulations.com/flash.php?page=sf26007_intro6) A2A Cub with Accusim (I own it but hardly fly it - too slow, but it's amazing)http://www.a2asimulations.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=1&products_id=36&zenid=181ebc2776d2c0bd593c6493a1f4870e7) Eaglesoft Citation X 2.0http://www.eaglesoftdg.com/CitationX_20.htm8) Not really GA but can be flown like a private jet...
