Yup. :D Wow, you should be a eagle or something, did you stare at that exact spot for hours on end hoping that one day you would see something others might not have? LOL... I didn't even see that, maybe it was because i was so excited and fixated on the plane and the new textures n stuff I failed to notice! BTW on that exact clip of that plane taking off, notice how great the clouds look? They seem... well, 3D. Don't they? Jamie ♥
ME???? STARE at hours? nooooooooo. Fixing my halo. The clouds are great looking. I think that scene was my favorite part of the whole movie.

I am trying to decide if those are birds, stars, or lights from another aircraft. :(
I thought you were going to say "bird, plane or superman"!Regards, Mike Mann

I think they are birds, because I noticed their movements (start at 1:06 not 1:08 as I mentioned first) (They seemed to be kind of circling). That is what got my attention to them to being with.

Yeah! orgasm can do that to you......:(

LOL you and your 3D clouds. I don't understand why you are so obsessed with them.--MS would have implemented them ALONG time ago. This game is MOST LIKELY approaching it's first stage of BETA testing. They wouldn't add 3D clouds at this point.BTW, IMO, those clouds look like pretty crumby.--REX easily looks better than those in FSX.

LOL- probably the funniest forum post I have ever read!!! :(:(:(

YOu know what I don't like about REX clouds? They look great except that the cloud bases are not flat. They have tons of upside down textures where the clouds grow from under the base. Also the growth from the base is bright where as cloud bases should be dark. Those are enough faults for me to really not want to use them. In fact I like the clouds in that scene better.

Here comes the inevitable slating after I say these next few sentences ;PI love REX, but the clouds... no. Well yes, sorta. Its mainly the way they're used that annoys me, that's why I want some sort of 3D clouds. Sometimes they look amazing, sometime their completely the wrong type of texture for the light at the time (mainly direction), the weather (overcast with still puffy clouds?I don't think so!), the perspective and and other things to account for as well. I think its more to do with how FSX uses the textures/ picks them rather than anything the REX team could have done... So its not they're fault really. But does anyone get what I mean? Or shall I try to explain again... It probably makes no sense to some :(

Lol, beat me to it. Damn you! I also share the same views! Its more to do with how FSX is rather than REX I thinkJamie ♥

*btw, when using the term 'game' it is an umbrella term, it also includes simulation and racing games, and everything in-between. Do not twist my words.

"A video game is an electronic form of play that involves interaction with a user interface to generate visual feedback on a video device" - the definition of the word "videogame", game is the common shorthand for videogame. Just being clear.

Because I am an Eagle remember? Here is what I mean about REX. look at the Cumulus clouds here..they are upside down. They are shinning and growing from below. FSX default clouds don't look upside down.

If you look at the top of the right wheel pants of the plane taking off at 1:06, you will see two birds flying in the distance. Edit: Off coarse you have to see the clip in its enlarged form to see the birds.
After 30 minutes searching for the birds....Do you mean this! bird.jpg

Well almost look here they are two of them flying. In the video you see them moving at 1:06. Maybe if you have a laptop screen they are not as clear.

Well that's what I'm thinking were talking about... so I assume you're correct rolleyes.gif

Exactly! That is my main problem with REX, I still love it though... wouldn't ever fly on FSX without it! Its amazing! I hope Flight handles textures and clouds much better than in the past :) Jamie ♥

You are right and I stand corrected on the SP3 patch for FSX, there was no SP3 for FSX on the table, what I should have said is that Flight should have been a patch for FSX.
\Not again Alain, you and Mathew keep bringing this up repeatedly; That flight is/should/will be an upgraded, patched, a service pack to FSX. To me, if Flight is going to be a multithreaded application it can't be a patch. If it has taken them almost 3 years to make it then it can't be a service pack. Do I swear by it? No. But those are my, and many other peoples opinion. Lets stop and agree that we will continue to disagree. I really don't want Mathew to jump in on this again and annoy the hell out of a us by his condescending posts. So please stop opening this worn out can of worms.

I didn't read all of that, but the bits about performance really interested me! Further proof that Flight should in some respects cut out backwards compatibly. :) but maybe allowing room for some, probably FSX native, with some sort of conversion tool... Id prefer it without it, but that's because I never went wild buying thousands of pounds worth of FSX add-ons, so obviously I wouldn't be annoyed very much If there were no backwards compatibly. rolleyes.gif But since its very likely that Flight will fully support DX10 (maybe not so much DX11 though) I think we'll see plenty of things that will blow FSX and FS9 completely out of the water. Like I say... we'll see :) biggrin.gifJamie ♥
