July 7, 201114 yr Hey guys,In preparation for the NGX I have recently done a fresh FSX reinstall. I have a few addons that I was wondering if you guys could give your opinion on what order to install them and also what order to have them in the scenery library. In the past I've always just had my mesh below landclass but I'm not sure if that's the best way. Addons:Ultimate terrain XGround Enviroment XScenery Tech Landclass North AmericaFs Genesis meshThanks guys! Matt Moore Chief Pilot | Elite Airways "The Virtual Executive Airline"

July 7, 201114 yr I seem to recall that the UTX/GEX manual specifies the preferred order. I can't remember which it is, but there is one. I would check the readme/install file or manual. Doug Orvis PP-ASEL-IA (USA), Based at KHEF Picture courtesy of Kyle Rodgers

July 8, 201114 yr If I have FS Genesis, UTX, and GEX, should I also install FScene or is that a waste? Thanks! Michael Gruesen
July 8, 201114 yr Author Thanks for the input guys. Sounds like about the same order as I've always had them. Matt Moore Chief Pilot | Elite Airways "The Virtual Executive Airline"

July 8, 201114 yr I installed FSScene after GEX, months after actually and it totally screwed up everything, I have uninstalled it since, but don't get the previous textures I used to. I am waiting for a chance to reinstall FSX and guess which one guess left out?? July 8, 201114 yr Matt, on a fresh install I would ensure that a complete defrag is done as well. Nck's guide over at simforums describes how to perform one using O&O Defrag v12. The defrag could take upwards of 2 days to complete but it is well worth it. \Robert Hamlich/

Anyways, this is the first time I've done a reinstall on the same machine and I was pretty surprised to see my defrag take about a full day and a half. I've read so many threads about people having massive problems after reinstalling FSX; I was most worried about simconnect as I have two client machines in my network but all is well. Thanks Matt Moore Chief Pilot | Elite Airways "The Virtual Executive Airline"

ThanksIt is vitally important that after uninstalling FSX a full defrag must be performed. Often people make the mistake of installing FSX and addons then proceed to use the sim immediately afterwards. People can avoid issues simply by rebooting after installation of FSX, SP's and addons. \Robert Hamlich/

Where should photosceneries fall in the library? Should it be like this?:1.airports and city scenery2.landclass scenery3.photoscenery4.meshes Robert Yunque

July 31, 201114 yr UTX only has urban landclass - the Scenery Tech will cover the rest of the country, rural areas etc. I'm running a 3 year old Intel Core 2 Duo CPU E8400 @3.00GHz, with 8 GB of ram and Windows 7 64 so I'm wondering if I can run any of this stuff. Also, being a novice, Scenrey Tech and GEX seem to do pretty much the same thing. No? Robert Cole Dan Cole
