July 16, 201114 yr Commercial Member This might be a little off topic now, but i thought i'd just throw it in here instead of creating a new topic about it. I am curios about the glarewings, where the "CLOCK+MIC" text is, with the CLOCK pushbutton (i guess?), is it possible to remove it and have it this way?..Sorry about the pic, couldn't find a better one.I honestly have no idea what you're asking for here. July 16, 201114 yr I think he's asking if the clock timer quickset button and mic jack could be removed from the panel graphics, as his home cockpit setup don't have them.Tero PPL(A)

This is not my setup you can see in the pic by the way.@ Ryan: Sorry for the lack of details in the description for my question. I feel embarrased now :SI was talking about the "clock timer quickset button". A. O. Kara "It is possible to fly without motors, but not without knowledge and skill."
July 16, 201114 yr Back to the topic, what is the longest real world route you know, performed by a 737NG?I'd start with PrivatAir's AMS -> IAH (5000 miles).Gabriel Toledano Gabriel
July 16, 201114 yr Commercial Member A.O.We're not going to be removing parts of the panel to match your home cockpit setup, sorry - the real NG has those things there, that's what we're modelling.Gabriel,There have been several very long range delivery flights done such as KBFI-EHAM for KLM on the 700. I believe KLM had very good tailwinds above North America and the Atlantic at the time :( But then still a very nice achievement ! I believe I can recal that I once read on airliners.net that they had their first nonstop flight around december 2009 or february 2010, and at that time there were strong eastern winds. PH-BGH flew in december out of KBFI and at EGPF (decision point) they continued to EHAM. They finally ended up with 3000 kg of fuel if I am correct. But I'm not sure about that :unsure:GreetzSWayze de Heij
July 17, 201114 yr This is a great post. For those who want to try an ETOPS flight one of my early planned flights is the KSAN-PHOG-KSAN loop on Alaska. Run in an ETOPS equipped 737 on the line. Doug Orvis PP-ASEL-IA (USA), Based at KHEF Picture courtesy of Kyle Rodgers

But i think you guys got me wrong there, i am not asking you to remove it, i was just asking you if there's going to be the option to have it removed, since there are 737's without that button there, that is what i was wondering. i never asked you to remove anything. :) I just feel bad about the reaction, i didn't want you to misunderstand me.Thank you very much for the information. July 17, 201114 yr the bars will not appear on the ground with the NG until you hit TO/GA on takeoff. Its accurate to the latest NG avionics and is slightly different to what you see on the other Boeings.all the bestJRThanks for the reply. So to clarify, if you set the thrust manually during takeoff (and I realize that that may not be standard line procedure) and do not push the TO/GA buttons, the FD bars will not appear? If so, will they appear on lift-off?Rushad Ed.
July 17, 201114 yr Gabriel,There have been several very long range delivery flights done such as KBFI-EHAM for KLM on the 700.So, they would have to be ETOPS configured? Even if it is only for this flight?Does this mean that a second battery has to be installed and after arrival in Amsterdam removed or are there special regulations for delivery flights?Regards,Wijnand (EHBK) Wijnand Lindelauf (EHBK)

The older NG's dont have anything, they are like the picture of the home cockpit. We have them in our fleet as well.Sven
July 17, 201114 yr Thanks for the reply. So to clarify, if you set the thrust manually during takeoff (and I realize that that may not be standard line procedure) and do not push the TO/GA buttons, the FD bars will not appear? If so, will they appear on lift-off?If I'm not mistaken they should appear once you engage an AFDS mode.BTW For visual/circling approaches some also want to remove the bars when flying manually. Say you came down from your descent in LNAV/VS or so, then you have both bars visible. Now the idea is to have the bars appear in case you were going missed (and hence press TOGA), but you don't want them during the visual circle. With AP off, go ahead and switch off the FDs, then back on. They will be armed in case of pressing TOGA but otherwise there won't be bars visible since no AFDS mode is selected. See here:No bars in view, but say he had to go missed, he'd hit TOGA and bars should eventually reappear (IIRC).We're not going to be removing parts of the panel to match your home cockpit setup, sorry - the real NG has those things there, that's what we're modelling.Well I thought it was a fair point he was making as the older NGs simply don't have it. (I certainly like the new style though...) Another thing that can be seen in the picture above btw.
July 17, 201114 yr Does the OEW change due the addition of life rafts ? My company shows that weight as 286lbs. Minor i know concidering the thing weighs 150000ish LBS, but I think were all starting to look for the small details.
