Wow what a diffence------Baron 58 with new config

Featured Replies

i just put in the new FDE config (B58.air) from one the forum members (thank you thank you) for the Carenado Baron 58 in and tested it out. i can take off from the runway and climb at 1800 FPM and not stall! i can get it to stall if i want too. before i couldn't even climb at 600fpm off the runway w/o it stalling. this is now my favorite twin prop.now if someone would only do this for the turbine duke i have. it stallls way too easy also!!thanks..............Bill

If it is the RealAir, that seems odd considering their claim to fame is the accuracy of their flight models. I get over 4000 fpm initial climbouts easily in mine and it only stalls for me if I am purposefully negligent with the AOA and power. 600 fpm in the Baron does sound bad. It's nice to hear when people give back to the community.

You are doing something seriously wrong if you think the Turbine Duke stalls too early.

Cheers, Andy.

the turbine duke climb easily at 4000 plus, so I really dont how what you mean it stalls too easily. It outperform most everything in its class, so unfortunately you must be doing something wrong.. maybe you fly the normal duke and think it is the turbine duke... :Big Grin:The turbine duke have been flying on the numbers from day one and not even a SP to correct that yet.. In this area Realair rule GA planes and is much better then other companies who let you pay to get hold of the plane to become a beta tester.. So sorry bud, but you on your own if you want to further enhance the turbine duke as that will only lead to a very unrealistic plane FDE.

Yeah, what they said re the Turbo-Duke. I have over 200 hrs on the Turbo and a similar number with the turbocharged Duke. Any stall problems with either Duke are due to your management of the aircraft in some fashion. "It's a poor workman who blames his tools.'

Hi Woodhick, just sent you a PM

I should make clear here that I am referring to the FSX Duke, not the real world version. Sorry for any confusion I may have caused.

I'm an old FS enthusiast returning to FS after a break. I was about to buy the Carenado Baron (been a fan of Carenado for many years and have many of their aircraft), but after reading of the stall issues, I had decided to wait for a possible Patch. This new airfile looks to be a solution, but sadly I can't get it from Sim Outhouse. For some reason my account there has lapsed, probably due to recent inactivity, and it won't let me re-register, I keep getting a message about my Email address being banned. Very strange since all I did was to be inactive for a while. Anyway, this may sound silly, but one question.Does the stall behaviour only show up as a problem if using full realism? I'm prepared to run the Baron at a slightly reduced realism if it helps the problem, figuring that it will still be better than having to use the default Baron. If not, I guess I'll just wait and see if Carenado ever release a fix before buying it.

The stall problem remains at every realism setting.Just PM me with your e-mail address and I'll send you the file ASAP.BTW, I'm presently working on completely new FDEs for the Carenado Baron and I guarantee that these will be the most precise FDEs for any FSX GA twin available :(

I hope Carenado is paying you to fix their product. Why not put the file here on Avsim as well? Personally I never use Sim-Outhouse either, though I have an account.

Nope, but they hired me for their 337. If that one works out I hope they want me on the C90 as well...Furthermore I like giving the flightsim community high quality freeware every now and then :) Tried to upload the file at Avsim but it was rejected because it's a requirement to add your e-mail address to the uploaded readme file. And that's definitely a no go for me.I'll check if I can upload the file at flightsim.com

Interesting; at SOH you have to register with an email that is not from Hotmail or Gmail. At least at AVSIM you can give them any old email account you want, including a throwaway from Hotmail/Gmail.Regards, Mike Mann

Are you planning on adjusting the 210 still as well?
