July 20, 201114 yr Are there any nice, 'bendy-twisty' STAR/Approaches (for mid size airliners) through the mountains anywhere?Perhaps something nice and low AGL?Doesn't have to be dangerous or especially challenging. Just something a little different that I can plug into an FMC and have a look around?I have the likes of Toncontin, Madiera and Kai Tak, but they're more about the actual approach. I'm looking for something to start a bit furthar out.Don't ask for much me :( Windows 10 (x64) - X-Plane 11 - M/B: Asus ROG Maximus IX Hero - CPU: i7 7700k (@5.0GHz) - RAM: 32Gb Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 @ 3200MHz - Video: GTX1080ti - Cooling: Custom water loop (EK 140 Revo D5 pump/res combo, EK EVO CPU block, EK XE360 Rad)
July 20, 201114 yr While not STARs, the RNAV approaches into KPSP are super interesting, especially the ones to rwy 13R. Johan Pettersen

July 20, 201114 yr Personal favourite of mine is IGS Rwy 25 into LSGS (sion) Switzerland. If you have Switzerland X and Sion X it makes for a nice European destination.Chart for IGS 25 Here Regards Luke M
July 20, 201114 yr Author MHTG RNAV rwy 2....bet ya don't make it the first time :(.Yeh, that's toncontin. July 20, 201114 yr VQPR definitely has interesting approaches, though no STARS as only VFR allowed. See here.Cheers,- jahman.
July 21, 201114 yr I did a flight from KFLG, Flagstaff AZ to KSNA, John Wayne. The KAYOH FOUR arrival takes you over Palm Springs and through a pass in the coastal range. MagaSceneryEarth California really made it exceptional. Joe Brown
July 21, 201114 yr Thanks, I'll take a look.I'm guessing that's Palm Springs.Anywhere worlwide will do also...Hiya PhilHave you tried Innsbruck? I believe that has quite a challenging approach. There was an article about it in PC Pilot a couple of years ago. Or the landing into a very high airport in Nepal that is a zig-zag approach and climb-out too. Cannot quite remember the ICAO. July 21, 201114 yr MMMX Mexico City gives you some nice ones too and also adds the rather uncommon high altitude landings/takeoffs to the game, placing you on the very far end of some performance charts. There's also some scenery available, payware and freeware.Of course, the real high altitude fellows go to SLLP La Paz or so, but the STARs there are rather simple. As Innsbruck (LOWI) already got proposed and the also nice Sion (LSGS) too, maybe stuff like some great Cuzco SPZO or the nice approaches of Guatemala MGGT are a not so common target. And lets don't forget about some challenging and also nicely placed locations like Zurich LSZH, offering a bunch of great views when using some scenery.
