July 28, 201114 yr Sad news. The preliminary report of the UPS 6 crash at Dubai can be found here http://bit.ly/htZRgaIt's the website of the UAE General Civil Aviation Authority. Quite sobering how fast the fire advanced and smoke overwhelmed the cockpit. Cheers, Bruce Campion-Smith
July 28, 201114 yr Commercial Member It was a shame Pack 1 was faulting as it was - they might have made it had it not been for that. I wonder if the latest 744F loss was due to yet another cargo of Li-Ion batteries... There is serious debate over whether to ban them from air transport. Best regards,Robin.
July 28, 201114 yr Speaking of UPS, aren't they developing some system thing that will allow the crew to see their displays in the event of cockpit smoke or fire? Kenny Lee"Keep climbing"
