August 1, 201114 yr Aerosoft has nothing to do with it. For all intents and purposes they'd rather only produce for FSX. It's the scenery developers who work with Aerosoft that still push FS9 development. I forget the name of the company now but they are also doing PANC which will be for FS9 as well. Credit has to be given to the individual scenery developers.I don't have enough information to agree or disagree with your statement. But the fact remains that Aerosoft are about the only major distributor/developer who are continuing to release FS9 products. I just looked over their "preview section" and there are several more FS9 projects in the works in addition to PANC. So I think it's appropriate to thank the individual developers but also the company who continue to provide support and marketing of their products.Ian

Some recently released airports, with FS9 versions included, are Aerosoft's internal projects. I can't say much more but Instead let me quote Mathijs Kok - Aerosoft's official project magnager (I hope he doesn't mind) from today on making more FS9 airports:For these kinds of products the FS2004 market is one that works very well for us and we'll do our best to convince developers of that!A positive post for us, FS9ers, isn't it?

I totally missed that. Great news indeed. Last I heard they were trying their best to leave FS9 in the dust... Thanks for posting this. It's about time they come around on this issue. Maybe some of their own team members have reverted back. That being said Sim-WIngs is the developer of the upcoming PANC. They are the one's most responsible for keeping Aerosoft producing any scenery for FS9 over the past few years. If it weren't for them some of the major work released would have been FSX only. It's like giving credit to Wilco for Feelthere's ERJv2/E-Jet series. Wilco was just lucking enough to have Feelthere on board. Again if Aerosoft is once again embracing FS9 because of the split market I'm more than happy... On a quick other note, I wonder why we still don't have a decent payware version of Auckland International. I was thinking about this seeing how remote Iceland is which is almost in the same contrast as New Zealand. August 1, 201114 yr I wonder why we still don't have a decent payware version of Auckland InternationalAbsolutely agree. Auckland would be awesome! Same question goes about Sydney.I have been planning a fulltime EDDF-WSSS-YSSY flight for years still waiting for a decent scenery of Kingsford Smith...

I hereby nominate Mathijs as AVSIM "man of the year." Okay, so we don't have such an award. But if we did, he'd get my vote for that statement...

I was thinking about this seeing how remote Iceland is which is almost in the same contrast as New Zealand.Although NZ is a small and remote country, it has one of the most active flight sim communities there is. NZ is a very aviation minded country and an affluent one so there's a high percentage of people with the interest and means to take on flight simming as a hobby. It is also one of the very few countries that is completely covered by accurate mesh/coastlines/rivers/landclass thanks to Red Baron's great product. An NZAA Auckland scenery would be particularly awesome as Robin Corn has an excellent photoscenery of the entire area - but no airport! If someone did a payware NZAA that blended in with that scenery along with the several payware and freeware airports and photsceneries that cover other parts of the country, and it would really be a pretty unique combination and I think there would be a reasonably good market for it.

Then why in the world didn't one of these people take on making the one major airport in their country? Auckland Intl. has been one of the biggest mysteries to me when it comes to detail and why a version hasn't been done for any version of Flight Simulator in it's 30+ year history. August 2, 201114 yr BIKF and FlyTampa's new LGAV will be added to my already bloated Addon scenery directory come payday. Whilst the flood of aircraft addons has slowed somewhat recently, these new sceneries are very much appreciated by this FS9 die-hard with his flash new WideFS install! Cheers, SLuggy I do not have a signature. Why are you reading this?

I cannot remember if this was freeware or payware (I think it is freeware called Auckland2005) but I have quite a good version of NZAA installed on FS9. It's worth looking at if you want to improve on the default Auckland Int airport scenery. There is also some other very good payware scener available for other NZ airports including Wellington from Godzone. Bill

Auckland being the main city in New Zealand it's amazing nothing has been created for the airport. I'll take a look at Auckland 2005, I couldn't find it the many times I was searching for scenery for this airport in years past.
