August 6, 201114 yr WOW I forgot how FS 98 looked. I remember I got FS98 just for the helicopter. Makes me want to play FS 98 and 2000 again Yeahm.. PLAY is the key word here. No more playing man, with this kind of add-ons, the things are getting more and more serious, takes lots of preps to get it moving and absolutely not a good idea to take it for a spin after a ton of booze in the early hours of the morning... Regards, Martin Martinov / VATSIM 1207931
August 6, 201114 yr That's how it all started, for me anyways. We've come a long way since... I surely won't forget the first time I hit "Fly Now!" in FS98, taking N9110E up and cruising along the Chicago skyline. Oh those days. Wasn't the Dreamfleet 737 even for FS98? Been a long time.

It's quite amazing that I can't walk in a straight line but I can manage to program an FMC correctly in my stupor. What are other peoples drunken FS adventures?
August 6, 201114 yr Airplane apart, it seems to me pretty much the same graphic we have in FSX produced in 2005 and released in 2006.
August 6, 201114 yr That's the funny part... most everything has been upgraded in some way or another but FSX is just one facelift after another on an old platform, hence all of the workarounds addon developers come up with. Finally getting a new engine once MS Flight drops.Ha!What new engine? Keep dreaming. Paul Smith.
August 7, 201114 yr I think I might install that while I wait for my NGX, how many FPS will I get with my 2600K?A million. Adam Adam Hill
August 7, 201114 yr Commercial Member FS98 sure looked better than FS95 did!True. That reminds me of thinking 98 was so awesome because it included a "real" jet. Before that, I was limited to the Lear as far as jets went. It makes me miss Meigs, too. Kyle Rodgers
August 7, 201114 yr Ha!What new engine? Keep dreaming. MS Flight is most definitely a new engine, and not the old FS98 engine with a face-lift (like all previous versions). Microsoft doesn't even own the rights to the MSFS IP & source codes anymore - they sold it to Lockheed Martin in Nov 2010. Source: http://www.prepar3d.com/ - Check it out. Lockheed is doing some interesting things with FSX SP2. Disclaimer: Actually, I may have read the info page from prepar3d wrong - Lockheed might have just bought Microsoft ESP, not FSX, in which case I'm sorely mistaken. Take-offs are optional, landings are mandatory. The only time you have too much fuel is when you're on fire. To make a small fortune in aviation you must start with a large fortune. There's nothing less important than the runway behind you and the altitude above you. It's better to be on the ground wishing you were in the air, than in the air wishing you were on the ground.
August 7, 201114 yr Ha!What new engine? Keep dreaming. I'll second that. Dreams power is stronger than everything in life, I agree. MS Flight engine is a rusty plane repainted with a fresh and shining white color. Here it is the picture of MS Flight before going into the painting room. http://www.google.it/imgres?q=tupolev+1960&um=1&hl=en&safe=off&tbm=isch&tbnid=yVzkClepTu01EM:&imgrefurl=http://www.flugzeuginfo.net/acdata_php/acdata_tu124_en.php&docid=kTrU3fl3XK_hPM&w=950&h=666&ei=MkY-TrHBM9H0sgbmnMgv&zoom=1&iact=rc&dur=421&page=4&tbnh=137&tbnw=183&start=140&ndsp=46&ved=1t:429,r:40,s:140&tx=100&ty=62&biw=1920&bih=912
August 31, 201114 yr Disclaimer: Actually, I may have read the info page from prepar3d wrong - Lockheed might have just bought Microsoft ESP, not FSX, in which case I'm sorely mistaken. Hi WestAir, ESP was effectively the same as FSX SP2, with a couple of fixes. It did have no UI though and a few aircraft missing, but it is the same code.
