Anyone any ideas on this?

I dont ever recall seeing g3d.dll anyware, just unhandled excecption, Ive flown several times with the MD-11 out of the YVR area, and in other payware in the YXX area, i have ORBX fully updated, and in default mode as far as I can recall. Hopeing its just bloatware norton.

Glad I havent experienced the G3D.DLL.... And I shouldnt... Brand spanking new GTX550ti with latest drivers, the more I dig into this, the more it seems its going to be norton 360 doing this too me. Wont know for a few more hours when im off work and on vacation for 2 weeks :) Release timing couldn't have been better PMDG

Oops mines not working again. Same as before except now at least the textures are fine..

I have never been able to fly around Seattle without a crash. Happens with Orbx, without Orbx and any aircraft.

It does'nt mean that the card is pooped, just a general software issue when putting alot of strain on a card. I get them sometimes when in the main menu after flight you know the planes spinning around that is creating a 3d image.

I see and while I didnt get that specific error, CTD did happen at BFI twice but everything seemed ok at YYC during a test flight.. So much for ever doing many alaska airlines flight.

Is that with the NGX? ORBX around Seattle? Ive never had any issue with this on my old I7950 so Im trying to determine if this is just a ORBX crash, a norton/NGX problem, or a NGX problem Lots of head scratching here as i seem to get the common problems with the NGX (grey textures, followed by a eventual freeze in aircraft systems) in succession that lead to the CTD. However its only happened in the BFI region so far.

Well I have ORBX and NGX but no Norton, although my FPS do drop occasionally into the low teens in other places.

That is with both the /3GB switch and LARGEADDRESSAWARE. Oh, in case it matters, my FSX.CFG has not been otherwise tweaked: I let FSX regenerate it a few weeks ago, added the large-address flag, but did not add the affinity tag. Threads are turned on (apparently the default). Dan "lensman" Davison

Well, my status is 2/3 - the tutorial flight with no weather went fine, but my next two attempts (with ASE running) both ended with g3d.dll crashes on approach to Frankfurt - both times around 5,000 ft.Not very satisfactory

Well I might have found the solution, I went into my Nividia driver setting and restored the settings to default and not the ones Ryan gave in his topic. All going well no CTD at all, flown the EIDW pattern 10 times in the circuit, frames are up to really great levels. This bird is so unreal, it's exactly like I remember, I don't know if many off yee have noticed in the flare but you flare at 15' just like in the real thing, none of this flare at 50-80' nonsense like in other addons, and on the takeoff, look at how the trend vector goes off the scale on the speed take once you leave the ground. It's accuracy is amazing. Brings back good memories!!!

Also whenever you get a CTD go to event viewer if you don't know the exact reason for the crash, it can shed a lot of light on where the problem might be.

Well if it happens again, Im going to post exactly what the error says. I wanna nip this one in the butt.
