August 5, 201114 yr Been fooling around with this beauty for a bit... but I seem to be having an issue with the auto brake usage.. it works fine on a rejected takeoff..(disengages the way it should) but on landing it refuses to disengage.. (yes I have moved the switch to off) it only disengages if I snap on the parking brake ( Ctrl .) and off again to disengage the auto brake...after which I lose full use of the manual braking... its just non-response even on the keyboard. I am using a Saitek X45 set and I can find no documentation in the Manual about troubleshooting brakes. Any suggestions? Ruining my life..kinda Brett Jennings

We had to do this else FSX had the kind tendency to auto disconnect our own system without the user touching his toe brakes. ==================================== E M V Precision Manuals Development Group ====================================
August 5, 201114 yr Actually that is how the real world 737 autobrakes disengage. You tap on the toe brakes for them to disengage. It's not an issue with the hardware but a real world feature on the plane. Nik

August 5, 201114 yr Possibly you need to overpower what autobrake is already doing in the real one. Just guessing (educated). Regards Kagan Ozgul

August 5, 201114 yr Author Thanks that seems to have done the trick.. Guess I need to really read the Operating Manual for a more in depth understanding of the real world systems.. this isn't a joke! Next question though.. while trying to fix the braking situation.. I thought that switching A/C or reloading the panel state would solve the problem and instead what happened was the parking brake would permanently stay on and not release.. using all methods that is ( keyboard, mouse, joystick). Are we sure there is no problem with the brakes? Brett Jennings

Just wondering if that might have been your issue here.
August 5, 201114 yr I Have my parking brakes stuck on as well. Tried tapping the toe brakes, CTRL . numberous times, can't get it to release. Any ideas? Much appreciated. Man, this bird is complex! But in a good way Paul Heaney - CYKF

Mike, I just checked. That was something I overlooked because I thought for some reason that when the aircraft was loaded in the short config that because external power was unavailable that the wheel chocks weren't in place...thanks for the help though.. On that note its time for bed... I'm clearly too tired to function! Brett Jennings

August 5, 201114 yr I also had issues with my brakes tonight. For one, my brakes refused to work period. Not even talking about the autobrake.I did read in the documentation that if you calibrated anything through FSUIPC (which I have registered) sometimes it would cause issues in the NGX, in this case the brakes (which I happened to calibrate through FSUIPC). The listed fix is to delete your FSUIPC.CFG file (which I can't find) and let it auto-regenerate. On a side note, the autobrake not engaging on landing while using pedals is something that plagued the PMDG 747-400, and I dug up a fix from a forum that addresses this bug and why it occurs. No idea if it also relates to the NGX, but here's the info anyway: There is a weird "bug" or software interaction, that can be triggered with a certain setting in FSUIPC, and it blocks the application of PMDG autobrakes. I had always noticed this, but despite a determined effort, couldn't find the problem, and eventually gave up on trying to fix it. I just recently discovered the definitive fix. Problem The autobrakes will not engage (or show disarmed) during a normal landing or aborted takeoff. This is only for the PMDG planes, but both the 737 & 747 are affected. The LDS767 is not affected. Regular brake application is not affected. Necessary Conditions PMDG plane hardware brake pedals FSUIPC registered FSUIPC set to filter "noise" on the pedals. Explanation The FSUIPC setting to filter noise appears to misinterpret the sudden activation of the brakes of the PMDG autobrake action, as a "noise spike", and totally suppresses the autobrake application! Fix Deactivate the FSUIPC noise filter for the brake pedals. End Result Get to the lounge just a little faster, and have a tall cool one. I have no clue if filtering noise on the pedals would be considered "calibrating" through FSUIPC, so it could be a double edged sword.I'm going to have a closer look at the brakes tomorrow after some sleep. August 5, 201114 yr The listed fix is to delete your FSUIPC.CFG file (which I can't find) and let it auto-regenerate.Be careful with this as it deletes all assignments/calibration etc to all aircraft/controls.You'd be better of manually editing the file if you know what you are doing.
