Had this problem before and it came down to two things:ENB mod (removed)UIAutomation.dll (Changed to the 154kb version) Since dealing with these two issues no more black screens or CTDs on PMDG planes.

Im having the same problem. ive tried a couple different fixes and it still crashes. I also have not had a complete flight since purchasing this 70$ item. Has nothing to do with my computer and everything to do with the plane. It only does it on the PMDG plane. I, along with others I'm sure, have been waiting for some type of fix for this from PMDG.

Fix would be great but I think they are not obligated to do so as this is an unsupported addon, but would be nice if they could look into it.

i am still getting crashes when i minimize or exit the screen and go back to the full screen mode. I need help. I tried the HIGHMEMfix=1 on the FSX.cfg and nothing it still does it. Pmdg please do something about this crash i cant even use my plane.. Not once since the day it came out have i done a flight with it! Since i payed 70 dollars for this plane i would like to fly it!

I use to switch a lot between full screen and windowed mode.I never had trouble.After installing the NGX it is not possible anymore. I don't know what causes this. So if I want to use other programs during flight I have to start in window mode.It has nothing to do with the original fsx. I didn't change anything on my computer. Just installed the NGX.I'm sure it is caused by the NGX. If I use another plane I can switch again. (even the PMDG 747, MD11 and J41)But, well I don't blame PMDG, I can live with it.Waiting for the SP1. Eric

My problems a little different. If I switch to windowed mode, then upon returning to full screen, I get total graphical corruption. The image pretty much whites out, with a few Grey patches. No issues with any other game, or sim add-on. Last night I hit alt + enter a second time and it cleared up but it doesn't always. I installed the latest nVidia driver last night, so we will see if that helps. Martin Wilby

If I use alt enter again it goed back to windowed mode and I can fly, If I change again the game crashes or after a while I get a running out of memory error.(use windows 7 64 bit 6Gb RAM I7 2600k@4000 nd Nvidia 280 GTX)Eric

I started having graphics corruption when minimizing to windowed mode recently. I can't rule out graphics card drivers on it because they were updated the same time NGX was installed. It can usually be 'snapped out of it' by bringing up the task manager, then I can resume the flight. I haven't been troubleshooting it just because its normally not a problem for me.

Thanks Eric. Sounds like either the sim is hanging (have you tried waiting a bit for it to come back?) or some other mod isn't working well with the NGX. Have you tried disabling ENBSeries before minimizing? (if you use it)

Mine just hangs, if I try to get it back then I get flightsimulator message not responding then I have to use that to get out of it, I have tried disabling ENBSeries before minimizing doesnt help for the most part.

Okay. Try pressing escape. Minimize it on the exit free flight screen. Maximize and click continue flying. Try that

How exactly can we look into a fix for something we didn't program? The ENBSeries mod intercepts FSX's graphics calls to DirectX and modifies them - there is absolutely no way we can have any type of control over what it's doing. We're not graphics driver programmers here. I don't know if many are aware of this, but ENB isn't even designed for FSX - the author made it for the Grand Theft Auto 3 series of games and someone adapted the ini to have it work partially in FS. I think these black screens and stuff with it have a lot to do with exactly which features are enabled in it - I run it with nothing but the bloom portion enabled: [EFFECT]EnableBloom=1EnableOcclusion=0EnableReflection=0EnableMotionBlur=0EnableWater=0EnableShadow=0DepthBias=0EnableDepthOfField=0 [bLOOM]BloomPowerDay=4BloomFadeTime=400BloomConstantDay=1BloomQuality=0BloomScreenLevelDay=75BloomCurveDay=0BloomPowerNight=18BloomConstantNight=2BloomCurveNight=0BloomScreenLevelNight=20BloomAdaptationScreenLevel=40BloomAdaptationMultiplier=50BloomAllowOversaturation=1BloomMaxLimit=100 Those are the only two sections that matter in my ini. Nothing else is enabled. I don't have these black screen problems at all.
