Nah I don't know but I feel my performance has upped slightly, you can always remove it. It may or may not have any impact on yours. I am still trying the bufferpools stuff again again to check.

There is a difference between the three possible entries. And more importantly: the numbers aren't carved in stone...! Maybe it's obvious, but just to be sure...: UsePools=0 is an on or off toggle. 0 means no pools are used, 1 means pools are used. PoolSize=#### and RejectThreshold=#### are two ways of telling the system (simply put) how many pools to use. These numbers will be different on each and every computer! And (obvioulsy) they do not toggle something. When you only use UsePools=0 you are using no pools, period. If you want more control over how many pools are used, you use the other two options. You could set UsePools=1 and use one of the other topions, but if you leave UsePools out altogether, the other option will simply be used. No need to add more to the cfg than needed. Beware: you have to experiment with these numbers for PoolSzie and RejectThreshold! Someone may get good result with PoolSize=10000 and other with PoolSize-50000000 (yes, that's a few 0's more...!!!) It all depends on your system, specially the GPU and how much ram is has. So do not simply copy an entry from the internet or this topic and say 'It didn't work, by bye'! If it didn't work you probably didn't use the right numbers! UsePools=0 quite often works well, but might give unwanted side effects (spikes, odd textures) in which case taking over control by using PoolSize or RejectThreshold may get better results. On my very old computer I used PoolSize=5000000 and on the computer I had after that I uses UsePools=0. Right now I am using a RejectThreshold=15000 entry... but I am going to experiment with some other settings too. In short: try each and every option and CHANGE the numbers! Don't simply copy a line from the internet or this topic! BTW In the end you still may find out none of these BufferPools stuff works for you, depending on your hardware...

Dr. Fixit? Who/what is that? A quick internet search returned home repair. Or are you saying you went there and built a pool for your computer? Shame on you Sir, everyone knows computers like jacuzzis. tongue.png

Bojote the fix it can he fix it, Bojote the fix it yes he can. Bojote and his tweaker and all the crew, turn faces on unhappy flight simmers into gleaming suns, Bojote the fix it can he fix it, bojote the fix it yes he can. My attempt at a bob the builder parody thingo starring Bojote, well, no one said I was a song writer.

What is you AA set to ?

That's got nothing to do with AA. When does this black screen occur?

It happens whenever I exit the flight. Every time. I click end flight, black screen but the start button is there and then I move my mouse around and colour in the desktop by hovering over icons. When I exit the sim fully, it returns to windows 7 aero and I can use the desktop. If i just leave FSX running i eventually get the crash related to the g3d.dll.

Can you monitor your VRAM usage as this happens?
