August 26, 201114 yr I havent tried the "Service Based Failures" yet, but the not being able to refill oil or fluids seems odd. Jason Aerts
August 26, 201114 yr Looks strange to me that service hours would be taken into account only when loading from a saved panel ? Are you sure ? Sometimes I don't load any panel state, and I'm "pretty sure" my flying hours are there. My hyd fluid are about at 70% ...
August 26, 201114 yr The only way I've found to top off oil is to not start from a saved panel situation. Load the aircraft into FSX then load a pre loaded panel situation from the CDU that comes with the NGX. The maintenance timer will still be saved per the livery used but oil and hydraulic fluid will be topped off again. So fly your flights for the day and then the following day load the panel situation LNG Cold and Dark from the CDU.I certainly hope that's not going to be the only way to refill fluids. I'd rather stick to a single panel state for as long as possible...I'm kinda thinking that's what PMDG envisioned. Hopefully, they'll explain what their thoughts are on this. Scott Burns
August 26, 201114 yr I havent tried the "Service Based Failures" yet, but the not being able to refill oil or fluids seems odd. Look under Failures under PMDG Options on the CDU. There is an option to refill engine oil. I haven't used it yet, but other users have reported it being there. Trevor

TrevorNot sure about a specific "refill engine oil" item...IIRC it's just "service", which resets the hours until a next service is due (like major service). In any case, hitting the service button doesn't seem to affect fluid levels. I could be wrong, but I seem to recall it being that way the last time I tried it (not at FSX machine to test). August 26, 201114 yr I had a high vibration in engine 2 once. I was in cruise level. I decided not to do anything about it to see what happens! I got an engine failer first and then the engine stoped on approach :) Roman Lyubimov

August 27, 201114 yr Lol at this rate there going to be a lot of grounded 737s all in need of some oil and hydraulics Regards James Carr

TrevorThis option does not exist; you can only do a "service", which resets the hours. There is no fluid refill option evident (looking at engine section now). Scott Burns
August 27, 201114 yr My hyd fluid are about at 70% ... Your hydraulic fluid quantity will drop to 70% in normal operation. This fluid is being used to hold certain systems in position, e.g., the spoilers will consume hydraulic fluid when they are up. When you put the down, that fluid will go back into the reservoirs. August 27, 201114 yr It is nice to look at the ENG page and see un-even values per engine on the gauges. seems to me much more realistic in my oppinion. August 27, 201114 yr guys, there is an option to refill the Hydraulic Fluid, its under hydraulic, maintenance, and look for hyd qty refill.....but i dont see anything for engine oil, the only way i know to refill engine oil quantity is to load one of the presaved panel state. I just sat here waiting for FSCaptain to unload PAX and flipped through all of the maintenance options for each system...didn't find anything. Reloading a panel state is hardly a great solution, but it is all we apparently have at the moment unless we're missing something. Scott Burns
