August 24, 201114 yr I'd like to know what combination of commercial mesh, landclass and land textures is optimal for person flying airliners mostly in Europe and North America.
August 24, 201114 yr For airliners flying North America and Europe I believe that FSGenesis and Ultimate Terrain X will give you most bang for the buck. For land textures you can either go Ground Environment X (low price small amount of hard drive space) or photorealistic scenery (expensive both in price and hard drive space). August 24, 201114 yr Author OK but in FSGenesis shop I have found many different meshes so I don't know what to choose. As I understand in FSX stock US mesh resolution is 38 m, for Europe, Canada and Mexico - 76 m and rest of the World - 306 m. As for UTX and GEX I think this is best bundle for US and Europe for my needs. Anyway I'd like your confirmation UTX has improved landclass also so I do not need Mills textures pack.
August 24, 201114 yr Try FS Global ultimate Europe & Africa (1 package), combined with Ultimate Terrain X Europe and Ground Environment X Europe. It's a very good combination.Best regards, Arjen Nederstigt System: Intel Skylake Core i7 6700K @ 4.0GHz / Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1080 Xtreme / Kingston 2x8GB, DDR4, 2666MHz, CL15 Microsoft Windows 10 Home
August 24, 201114 yr Author Do I need to buy additional landclass like ST or Cloud9 products if I have also UTX?
August 24, 201114 yr Do I need to buy additional landclass like ST or Cloud9 products if I have also UTX? Nope, with Ultimate Terrain your landclass is taken care of.Regards, Arjen Nederstigt System: Intel Skylake Core i7 6700K @ 4.0GHz / Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1080 Xtreme / Kingston 2x8GB, DDR4, 2666MHz, CL15 Microsoft Windows 10 Home
August 24, 201114 yr I like the Nl-2000 complete photoscenery of Netherlands but not much 3d blds. Ryzen 5 1600x - 16GB DDR4 - RTX 3050 8GB - MSI Gaming Plus
August 25, 201114 yr with Ultimate Terrain your landclass is taken care of. It is my understanding that only urban landclass is affected by UTX. Am I wrong? Art
August 25, 201114 yr I'm very pleased with the UTX series, with FSGenesis mesh.UTX does only affect urban landclass, but it does it very effectively. Also, I think that UTX's own high-res textures look better than GEX's in the urban areas, especially the high-density housing areas.

Anyway I'd like your confirmation UTX has improved landclass also so I do not need Mills textures pack. My info could be outdated but something you should be aware of in regards to GEX is that in order to display Europe and NA you need to bridge the two with Africa/Middle east, other wise you have to switch between NA or Europe. If you are an airliners captain this may affect how you fly but if yo only fly GA you just have to remember to switch back and forth. Mike Keigley

Also, I think that UTX's own high-res textures look better than GEX's in the urban areas, especially the high-density housing areas. Does UTX have hi-res textures now? I only thought that they would provide just a few specialised ones eg. golf courses and harbours and even they are overwritten by GEX.

August 27, 201114 yr Author Thanks for your help. I bought both UTX+GEX Europe and I am happy with them. Now land graphics is inferior only to FBX sceneries.
August 27, 201114 yr Author It's m again! Tell me something about ORBX US sceneries. I am interested in Central Rocky Mountains scenery but I could not find how much area it covers (sq. miles). It's strange because I have found such info pretty quickly about PNJ, PNW and NRM sceneries.
August 28, 201114 yr Wiking, according to the coverage area for Google Earth available from Orbx, the Central Rockies area is ~180,000 sq miles. To compare: Central Rockies: ~180,000 sq miNorthern Rockies: ~220,000 sq miPacific Fjords: ~120,000 sq miPNW: ~125,000 sq mi And just for grins: Australia: ~2,900,000 sq mi Go orbx! -joe in mpls -- Joe in Mpls
