Starting Engines Issue

Recommended Posts

Hi, first I would say how great is this aircraft, but after that I have to mention a bad issue I have using it as normally I do with the others add-on I have. Through FSUIP macro and LUA files, the VR Insight MCP Combo and the Saitek Multiswitch I am able to execute all the actions without any mouse click or any button on the keyboard. This happens also for the PMDG 737NGX with the exception for the starting engines: as there is not in place the 2D throttle panel there is no way to start the engines withous opening the 3D panel and click with the mouse on the engines buttons.. Is there a way to solve the problem? Is planned the release of the 2D throttle panel? Is there a variable that i can use in the LUA or macro to set the engines start switches as needed?. Trying with the normal FS command 'Engine autostart' it is not possible to solve the problem. Thanks in advance for the support and best regards Joe

You know you can assign keyboard shortcuts to the engine start levers, right? Also, do note that the levers are on the pedestal, and the switches are on the forward overhead.

Joe, Right click, choose "center pedestal" then you can pull the levers. Right click again, and choose 2D cockpit again. May not be an ideal, but it works.

why people still fly in a 2d cockpit I do not know.,
Hi Alex, I think you'll find that flying in the 2D cockpit is probably not somehting people do all the time, but if like me you want to set functions on the MCP then it is so much easier to see than in the VC. Sure, if you have Ezdok then I agree with you. I have only recently got Ezdok and so have allocated a single view just for the MCP, but prior to that I used the 2D cockpit all the time when accessing the MCP and found it extremely helpful. Cheers...

I use EZDOCK with trackir and I've not set any view, I move my head in the cockpit. Simpler than swapping from a window to another.

Hi, thanks for yor support. I did not notice that it is possible to assign keys to the start levers, that should solve my problem. About the 2D panel: that is my personal taste: I find good to have the main panel on the main screen and the others I need (normally overhead and comms) on the others. Thanks again Joe
