Geofa,Not to be argumentative, but I take offense at your RTFM. While I did not momorize the details yet ... I did use the numbers indicated for t/o, climbout and cruise. As noted in a post below, you use these at your own peril.Having said that, I turned off the "realism" and finally completed my flight to Lanai City. I think the Navajo is extremely WELL DONE. a really EXCELLENT piece of software, whether I can fly it correctly or not.And to "You Guys" who provided me with positive, HELPFUL and INSIGHTFUL information, I do appreciate your efforts. For the most part, this forum is a very civilized and helpful place to visit!!!Happy Weekend!!!

Thank you Martin-you took the words out of my mouth. The documents do seem to be "hidden" in the folder and don't appear on the start menu under the Navajo-I was simply pointing this out.So much anger in the forums now-good reminder why I stay away more and more...by the way what does rtfm mean?http://mywebpages.comcast.net/geofa/pages/Geofdog2.jpg

WANTED DEAD OR ALIVE-the best Flight Sim!

>more and more...by the way what does rtfm mean?Something to do with "Reading The Manual", I guess. I might be missing a word or two in there though.- Martin

>Well, thats as maybe but when the supplied documents state,In apology to a previous poster , I was not aware that FSD offer this "damage modelling" - which seems to me to be a brilliant innovation - and just what I ahve been looking for. However, I am now a bit hesitant to purchase this a/c right now because of the reports of incorrect documentation. This is my pet pieve with many freeware a/c (usually the lack of documentation) -- but one cannot complain about this in regard to freeware. But not with payware - I am still annoyed about the documentation supplied for the Dreamfleet Cessna 310 -- normally aspirated supplied when the a/c is TC. It completely defeats the purpose of the Sim IMO. There are many nice looking a/c available with nice looking and complete panels -- but what we as simmers are trying to do is to simulate real flight -- and for this we need accurate and comprehensive documentation. The best modelled Sim /ac is merely a toy if it doesn't come with the correct DOCSBarry

Hi Barry,Seriously I would'nt let this little hiccup stop you purchasing this plane. It's a beautiful plane, and I am sure FSD will iron out any issues quickly, I can fly it with full real time damage as it is, but I need to "modify" the take off, climb and cruise reference figures to stop the oil boiling premeturly.CheersDan.

A few things:1. Jason, great attitude, I couldn't agree more.2. This is FSD we're talking about here. They're in the forums constantly and I'm honestly surprised that Steve or someone else hasn't had a post on here letting everyone know all the issues are fixed already. You can count on them to be making the changes as we speak. Just give it a little while longer. They have some of the best support and customer service around! Delay the whining for just a bit, and if they really have screwed up, they'll make it right!3. I've got the credit card in my hand, but before that, can someone answer the FPS question for me. Is it as hard on FPS as the porter, or is it more like the cheyenne in this department?4. Anybody painting this thing yet?5. Have you seen the aerostar pictures yet?

Hi Scott,The FPS are as good (or bad depending on your system) as cheyenne, mind you the porter runs the same as both on my system. There are 3 paints already in the AVSIM library for this plane, they are good paints too.CheersDan.

Hey Jason, Send me an e-mail ([email protected]). I'm interested in starting a Bahamasair VA.J.C. (MYNN)

Hi GuysI have purchased this aircraft and am having trouble with it. I am using win98se. The problem I am having is the license no ( I know I got it right) doesn't appear to take and therefore the load manager won't boot. The plane loads and flies but when quiting fs9 ctd.I email them and they suggested I reinstall windows, not an easy option. All other planes(pay and free) their's too work fine.I was wondering if anyone here is using win98se or just looking for simple solutions. Thanks

Hi Dan, not sure if you were talking to me. I know my numbers are a little lower than should be on the overall scope of damage prevention, but I just know the Cheyenne is sensitive as well, and can damage at high RPMs. I usually baby my GAs anyhow, simply because they really perform well and hit overspeed on climb out if full power and full RPM is applied. I only have the FSD GAs, so I can't comment on the others. I'm no expert, and while the checklists say to do one thing, I simply modify my application of power and engine settings per performance and airspeed. I imagine this pertains to the real world as well, since different weather causes different things to happen.I'm sure that FSD will fix any problems that effect damage modelling. It's not like this wonderful new plane isn't flyable.Chris

I appreciate your frustration but you may not be aware that some developers of complex FS products don't support obsolete operating systems (OS) like Win98 and WinMe nowadays, for very sound technical reasons. There are the occasional OS problems we simply cannot remotely resolve on a platform which in some cases was last installed six years ago.http://www.fsd-international.com/team/Steve_signature.gif

Framerates are further improved and function is much enhanced in the new model files that feature fully clickable VC's, rain effects and other enhancements. We are prevented at this time from releasing these as the gmax software used to create them is 'unofficial'. Don't know when we will be able to release them, but they are all ready & waiting to post.Best, http://www.fsd-international.com/team/Steve_signature.gif

Will there be a paintkit anytime soon?Regards, MichaelKDFWhttp://mysite.verizon.net/res052cd/mybannercva1.jpgCalVirAir International VACougar Mountain Helicopters & Aviation[link:www.cgrmthelos.com]Cougar Mountain Helicopters
