ATI Card users *ONLY*

Featured Replies

To all ATI card users, just alittle bit of info i have come across today. I have an ATI card and driver version 11.9 was released this evening. In regards to the NGX i have noticed slight increase on performance about 5% and when i go outside now i don't seem to get that skeleton effect. Just remember this maybe something in my system so i urge people not to take this as fact but i thought i would share. Regards Stevie

Thanks Steve. Haven't been prompted for an update yet by CCC :S

Given that ATI told me directly several years ago that they would never devote driver team resources to FSX again because it was too old with too few users compared to newer games, I have to doubt this... sorry. Unless you were to run controlled tests where the exact same scenario is done with both sets of drivers repeatedly, averaged, and still showed a significant increase, then I don't think it means much to say a particular driver feels anecdotaly faster. I'll gladly agree if you can prove it with repeatable testing though.

Thanks for the info SteveI installed the new version of the driver and an improvement in performance, I use external limiter but I noticed that sense of speed at takeoff greatly improved.A skeletal view no longer exists.I use a Saphire 6950.Joao Alfredo

What? He could have an improvement and ATI not have target FSX for it.

I installed 11.8 when it was released, and Ivao Eye didn't load the map any more. Went back to 11.7, and everything was fine again. I haven't tried 11.9 yet, but from what I've read in the IVAO forum, it seems that 11.9 does not work with the Eye either.
