Your next step will be the same approach but breaking off to the left at AB to make the RW08 Circle to Land Procedure which you can see on my YouTube 1 to 4 flight to Innsbruck with the 767 with full coverage of Vatsim ATC and interaction with FS2Crew Co-pilot and all the real Terminal procedures. This winter and when FS2Crew is there, I will make the same movie with the 737. http://www.youtube.c...ry=klm763&uni=1
I was going to say the same thing. RW26 is easy, do the RW08 approach from the east for a real challenge.

I flew in there last week actually into RWY08 but i came through the mountains via KPT thats a bugger

That's true too

Infact i wont be doing that again. I think im going to set myself a challenge, fly in there via the Rattenburg and cirlce around to RWY08 and put heavy snow on because Innsbruck really looks nice in fsx with the winter theme on
Basicly your approach was fine on the LOC/DME East approach but seems to me that your short final was in to wrong angle of attack due to full flaps. RW26 is fine with flaps 30 at speed of 135 Kts. Very nice indeed!
I have to try that!!!
Yep, happy landing !!!

Your step AFTER RW08 Circle to Land will be the Western Approach coming in at FL135 over KTI and then a steep descent to FL045 at AB and making a 180 to RW08 downwind...Beware of your speed and flap settings... when heavy loaded, a gear down config will do the trick...

Brilliant am going to try it out tomorrow thank you

You made the Western approach out of KPT (Kempten) and must take the ELMEM3A arrival route at FL135 to KTI (Kuhtal) entering the LOC/DME West at 068 and make a steep descent to AB (Absam) to FL045 to make a sharp turn to the right to enter the downwind procedure for RW08... This is the most thrilling approach with a airliner in real life in Innsbruck and not very common...

Im going to Innsbruck in Jan 2012 can't wait

Ahhhh Innsbruck..once in a Innsbruck pub I spoke with a retired tower man who told me about winter visuals during heavy snow...it was a pleasure to have a beer with that great man.... I hit Innsbruck roughly 3 times per year and it is amazing how medium-big jets fly over the city every half an hour around mid day.....around 50 mt over downtown roofs...... amazing....no words to describe it.

If you will be in Innsbruck I can also suggest 2-3 places to spend the night...but this is OT :)

You can easily make a beautiful photoscenery with FS Earth Tiles and a eEurope SRTM mesh.... I will do it for myself.

I duuno why the LOC is oblique, I guess that the descending profile is safer this way (mountains) but I dunno.
