Microsoft Flight: Hawaii Only

I respect your opinion but I strongly disagree. You know, thinking about the tragedy of 9/11 someone thinks it has been a terrorist attack someone else think it has been plotted by USA to find a world wide excuse to grab the oil from Iraq.If people across the world have so many opinions on important facts why we can't have and express opinions on a game ?Mine is clear and for instance even the CEO of ORBX agrees. It is hard to believe that a whole year of screenshots, videos and news speaks about the game but not a tiny single ounce speaks about one of the billions simulation aspects missing.
Why are you questioning if we can express our opinions about a game? Ofcourse we can! That's what this forum is about. Let's just agree to disagree.John Venema said: Flight is not what people are expecting, it won't compete with FSX at all, it's a completely different sim category. Again, I guess this is only a personal assumption, not necessarily the truth. I doubt though he would agree Flight will be an arcade game. I hope I'll be right in the end. Because then we would have a full fledged simulator just like FSX, only much improved.
You tell me I'm pessimistic but I think you are light years ahead in a far optimistic view.
Thanks! That keeps me going biggrin.png

Ok, now its your turn.Which sim aspects, exactly, in your opinion, Flight will have and which ones it will miss ? ( f.i. SID and STARS, Weather Management, ATC, World maps, lightening strikes effects, wind shears, microbursts, turbulence etc. etc. )Thx

That's a tough question Mark, I do not have the power to look into the future, so I'm just guessing as everybody else around here. I believe Flight will have all the componenets that FSX has already, like ATC, a flight planner, weathermanagement, you name them. As with the transition from FS9 to FSX some of these components will be improved, others remain as they are. The point I'm trying to make is that I think Flight will be a step forward instead of Microsoft downgrading their sim.

We should hit the psychiatric chair. Starting from the same data we came to very opposite conclusions smile.pngTold that, I feel the reality won't be in the middle because I trust what I see, being myself not religious, and MS Flight site never reported all of the aspects you mentioned.

That is a rather curious statement.

They have never shown or mentioned jets either, so is it a fact that jets are not included in Flight?

Yes it is, from my point of view. The hope is that within 2-3 years some third party will be able to inject them somehow into Flight but that is only a dream I will never see realized.

Ah, so you only believe in what you have seen or been directly told.

I was told aliens went on earth during 1969 but I tend to believe to what I see.

Were you on the moon in July of 1969?

It's just odd that after all this time, we've only ever seen small prop planes flying over Hawaii. Microsoft certainly hasn't done anything to dispel the notion that that's all there is to Flight, so it's not unreasonable to conclude that that's really all there is. Also, the 10GB for a recommended install is very suspicious.

How large was FS2000, FS2002, FS2004?

No idea. All I know is that the bulk of FSX's install size is taken up by textures, sound files, 3D models, and terrain mesh. The main executable is only 2.6MB, and along with the rest of the .dll and .cfg files only accounts for 28.4MB of drive space. If they reduced the install size by 5GB it's because they either removed content and/or reduced the quality and not because they optimized the code.

I think Fs2002 was just under 2GB and FS2004 was about the same.

OK, so do you think there are any jets in there?
