Told that, I deploy a question , why MS since a year and a half keep on showing the very same planes, the very same sceneries, the very same gauges etc. instead of showing something else if they really existed in the game beside existing into fans' minds only ?
Mark, with respect there have been several very pausible explanations for this offered before. If you didn't accept them then, there's little to be gained from restating the obvious.

Sometime guys it is opportune to distinguish between a truth and a provocation....Told that, I deploy a question , why MS since a year and a half keep on showing the very same planes, the very same sceneries, the very same gauges etc. instead of showing something else if they really existed in the game beside existing into fans' minds only ?
Software developers do that all the time. Bethesda only released images of their Nord race in Skyrim until just a few months before the game was released . . . and there are 10 playable races. And they didn't post a screenshot of a female play character until just before the game went gold. Skyrim was in development for 5+ years. Until those shots were posted, there were many nay-sayers on Skyrim's forum, claiming that the lack of any such screenshots was "proof" that you could only play as a male Nord.

One thing is the presence of a female character, another one is distinguishing between an arcade game or a role play game like Skyrim. We are arguing if Flight will be pure Hawaian arcade, not if it will have a Maule or a Cessna.BTW nice to have a gentle female poster here, otherwise it is plenty of Rimshots or JSKorna here and there and it is quite a buisness dealing with their faith in a god called MS wink.png

I understand this discussion, but just like the speculation about what will and will not be included in Flight, there was a LOT of discussion about what would and would not be included in Skyrim before it was released. I just used the PC as an example. The map size was also an issue, as was whether the game would be more of an Action Arcade type game or a more of a complex RPG. As someone who has spent a lot of time on both forums, I cannot help but notice the similarities in all the speculation and "proof" that is based solely on what has not yet been made public. Thanks (about yhe female poster part). And don't worry, I'm not a blind fan of MS or of any developer (I have been VERY outspoken about the way the Skyrim was "dumb-down" to appeal to more mainstream gamers. And I will mod Skyrim to make it a LOT more challenging.)I'm hoping that MS will improve on FSX, but I'm also very aware of the trends in games (and in simulations) . . . which is to cater to the mainstream gamers above creating challenging, complex, realistic games/sims. So I am very concerned about how Flight will turn out.

I was right on you, you have some shining and this is the proof : " I have been VERY outspoken about the way the Skyrim was "dumb-down" to appeal to more mainstream gamers. And I will mod Skyrim to make it a LOT more challenging ". I think you can therefore and somehow understand me.I also share your latest sentence about the very uncertain simulation future.I encourage you to post more often, considering the tiny score you realized by now, 15 posts only. The simulation community needs persons like you smile.png not only the ones who take as gold everything received despite it is mud or a mediocre product.I also play RPGs like The Witcher, Never Winter Nights, ... and I started from Dangeoun Master back in early '90..I still have anyway to get Skyrym a try so I do not have an opinion on it yet, but it seems to be promising. And sorry for my uncertain english, I am definitely not a mothertongue.

I haven't posted much because my current PC does not run FSX very well. But I just ordered a new Gaming PC that should give me MUCH better frame rates. So I've recently became active on the AVSIM forums . . . as I wanted to catch up on after being mostly inactive in the last few years.I'm both a harsh critic and a strong supporter. Bethesda has given me free games, in appreciation of my website support for their games,Opinions are fine. And different opinions can add a great deal to forums, as long as the members don't get personal. It is also VERY important to separate opinions from facts. (I run a small international gaming forum.)[Off topic: I mod Bethesda's games, so I will eventually overhaul Skyrim to be the challenging game that the released version should have been (I did that to Fallout 3 and NV), but I have to wait for the game's Creation Kit to be released. Skyrim is way too easy]

I started reading this thread but lost the will to live somewhere a long the line Yawn.gif so what I'm about to suggest may have been covered, apologies if it has!!It seems to me that there are two non-worldwide camps, either it is Hawaii only, or Hawaii base and you pay for additional areas. But what about a third option where the box contains Hawaii but you can download the rest of the world default scenery as you chose for free, or buy third party scenery?Think about it... XP9 is what, 7 DVD's? XP10 - 8+? That's a big box, and lots of DVD duplication for scenery that most people probably won't ever use. So by only including Hawaii in the box they can use standard DVD cases, on two DVD's (your 10gb install) and have a fairly cheap to replicate product. Someone buys it and they have enough scenery to start with, and so long as on the box it says "travel the world*" "*Internet connection required" they've fulfilled any legal requirement.MS could also use their existing mechanism for getting say 64bit Vista so you can order the additional scenery areas on disc, by paying for each disc you require (~£5 when I got Vista 64).Makes sense to me... after all what do you expect for a ~£40 product?!As for the Hawaii only screenshots, correct me if I'm wrong but I recall in the build up to 2002,2004 and FSX that most, if not all, screenshots to start with came from whichever was the chosen "default" area for the sim? (2004 - Seattle, FSX - St Maarten etc) Only closer to release did they show other areas... that's my recollection anyway!

Correct, but please do not forget about the fact that previous versions had the word " Simulator " belonging to " Flight ".......

Nope, seeing your avatar picture I'll probably trust you if we were flying for real but as gamer I would suggest you not to trust MS, they are used to perpetrate crimes against the passionate communities.
