Never mind Jim. I just reminded myself of who you are based on your photo. My guilty conscience got the better of me.

That's not me. You should never post your picture or actual name on the Internet.

Then why isn't one of the hardware requirements an Internet connection?
I'm simply telling you what I know from the previous GFWL titles I've owned. Extrapolate from that what you will.I will tell you however that Dawn of War 2 is a GFWL game, and not one of the 3 titles lists an internet connection in the system requirements. That is a separate sentence on the box.All I'm saying is, don't be surprised.

Shame. You're such a good looking man in that photo

And even better in person.

Guys don't make it personal because we (you) don't agree...nothing to gain going that way.

Modest and humble, too.Alain, if you saw Jim's posts in another flight sim forum, you would see that he can definitely handle himself.

Did they publish 'requirements' yet?I think, what they did was give the specs of two PC's used to discuss performance.I could be wrong...it may be in the beta announcement.

Lol, I was a little let down, until I read this part.yes, there's such a thing as too handsome.Your discretion is appreciated.biggrin.png

Hello all, just my thoughts. The discussions about "only Hawaii" or "not only Hawaii" it's gone a bit too far. To speculate it's a healthy nature of the human but what we have, so far concerning about FLIGHT, is nothing. No information at all. There are some repetitive boring but stunning videos and photos for us just to get some "taste" for the upcoming game/simulation, and nothing more. MS policy looks like it changed comparing to the previous titles of the franchise. In the past, as far as I remember, we were given promises, big words about the new game, and that, even more than a year before its final release date. The result? we all know. Great disappointments, many tweaks, thousands pages in the forums with discussions of how the new simulation will run on our rigs and so on. Now I believe this has changed. They don't show their cards so early as it was with FSX about 6 years ago and I find that good.If you look at the videos again (I did) you will notice that there are some new features inside. 3D volumetric clouds, possibly with a totally new weather engine, moving shadows inside the cockpit while the plane is turning, maybe an improved flight dynamics, shadows on the ground, and the scenery looks like ORBX/FTX with no more leopard ground textures. So the videos are shown not for the purpose that is only Hawaii.I want to believe that we are in for big surprises. Perhaps I am naive but for sure I am positive. Let's see.Thank you

We have a good chance to force Jim's bankruptcy, if at least a single jet is not spotted into Flight. If you are interested in emptying Jim's wallet, please join the bet.

Well, no. I didn't actually change my statement . . . I just attempted to clarify my initial post in my next post.
Clarifying your statement is fine (for example, "I"m sorry, I wasn't clear. This is what meant..."), but "clarifying" yourself and then saying that I didn't know what I was talking about based on your clarification is not (as if I was supposed to read your mind and ignore what you actually said in favor of what you meant to say).
The problem is that you ALWAYS try to come across like you're an expert on EVERYTHING, and present your THEORIES like they are the Gospel Truth. And then you ridicule other members' theories.
No, I wasn't ridiculing you, I was simply pointing out why your theory was unlikely given current technology. Frankly, you strike me as someone who is so in love with your own opinions that you take it as a personal attack if someone doesn't immediately agree. To that I say get over yourself.
Land class scenery is largely procedural, no?Anything that uses vector data rather than rasterized images; roads, railways, shorelines.
Some things can be procedurally generated on the fly, such as populating the landscape with pre-rendered 3D objects (basically auto-gen scenery), but not to the extent that Arwen initially suggested (and for which she apparently offered clarification), where you could start with a 10GB install and procedurally generate terrain mesh and textures in real-time while the simulator is running. Current desktop computers simply aren't powerful enough for something like that.
