That's ok guys, I'm not here to make you believe anything, I'm just giving my own opinion on what I think Flight is, take it or leave it is no skin of my nose.

Could be they're taking the "X-Plane Route" and using procedural routines to fill everything in, but still using custom buildings/objects where needed, at least in North America.Pretty sure they could easily do that in 10 gigs.
A full X-Plane install is around 70GB.I think people are a bit in denial if they think FSX really had several gigabytes worth of bloat that could be simply stripped out. The bloat would have been in the legacy code which accounts for megabytes and not gigabytes. The reason FSX is a 15GB install is because of all the textures, 3D models, and sound files. The only way to substantially reduce the install size is to reduce the amount of content in terms of scenery and planes. This isn't a case of doing more with less, it's a case of doing less with less.

Then why don't you state your opinon then shut up? You've given your opinion over and over and over and over and over again. We know what your opinion is. Everytime you come back and repeat yourself, you're making it pretty clear that you are trying to make people believe you.The rest of the discussion is ridiculous. Just wait and see what they come out with.

Evidence ? Am I in a court or in a forum ?I told my idea and I am deeply convinced Flight will be a colored arcade, if you think it will be an hi-fi simulator good for you, I do not demand evidence of your ideas.Told that, If it will be a simulator I will be very happy of course ( I'm a flight simmer since many years ) , if it will be an arcade many you will be frustrated instead.Within 6-8 months we will see, I would like since now to invite you here on discussing the matter around August-September 2012 when Flight is supposed to be released, to see who was right and who was wrong smile.png

I take facts and I do not listen to MS marketing chats.Flight will not have an ATC, a weather management, it will miss SID and STARS and it will have no flight planner at all. Just to mention a few. These are elements that distinguish a simulator from an arcade where you only have to use your pad controller ( ..Kinetic..caugh.. ) and nothing more.Oh.. wait... which simulation elements are you expecting Flight to have ? Which of these sim aspects have been highlighted on MS Flight web site ? Please point me there, I might have missed them, thx
Sources for the above, please! Aside from what MS themselves have posted, there ARE NO "FACTS". Period.Absence of evidence is not evidence of absence!

Fair enough Mark. Let's just say I find it very strange you base ideas on absolutely nothing other than what MS has given us so far. And what they gave us hardly bolsters your views. It's easy to dispose of MS information on Flight as 'marketing chats'. Don't you think it would be very unwise to tell the public the new "Microsoft Flight” retains the full fidelity simulation longtime fans have come to expect and then in the end release a dumbed down arcade game? In my book your views are extremely pessimistic, and I believe you are completely wrong. Let's indeed wait and see what MS comes up with this month. My cup of tea is half full!

I think I'm starting to understand why the MS Flight Sim team do not make regular appearances on the AVSIM forums.....

Honestly, MS is only reading the feedback from there website. I am sure that the guys running the team told them "Don't listen to those whiny babies on the AVSIM forum...." :(

Using vague terminology that could be read a number of different ways is just basic salesmanship. In other words, "full fidelity simulation longtime fans have come to expect" can mean whatever the marketing team wants it to mean, but they'll happily let you make the wrong assumption if it means another sale.

So explain how I could possibly read 'arcade' in the above quoted sentence Confused.gif

We don’t need to create an arcade game to welcome a wider audience. How would you read this marketing lingo? I take that as pretty straight forward.

The big question is, how does Microsoft expect to do that without creating an arcade game?

I respect your opinion but I strongly disagree. You know, thinking about the tragedy of 9/11 someone thinks it has been a terrorist attack someone else think it has been plotted by USA to find a world wide excuse to grab the oil from Iraq.If people across the world have so many opinions on important facts why we can't have and express opinions on a game ?Mine is clear and for instance even the CEO of ORBX agrees. It is hard to believe that a whole year of screenshots, videos and news speaks about the game but not a tiny single ounce speaks about one of the billions simulation aspects missing. You tell me I'm pessimistic but I think you are light years ahead in a far optimistic view.

"We don't need to in theory, but we will if it means a bigger paycheck."Marketing 101, kids.

I wonder; when Microsoft says "welcome a wider audience" does that mean they want to welcome overweight people?
