To the comments about it not looking much better than FSX... What are you expecting?
An improvement! FSX is old tech built for old computers, if it's not going to be any better than FSX, then why buy it? Why should I spend my hard earned pounds on it if it's just FSX with an oh-so-mild facelift (same applies to FS04vFS02 btw)?Warmed up left overs are not my idea of a good product. FSX was seriously lacking in several areas and I think it is of right of us as loyal customers to expect these to be addressed to as greater extent as reasonably possible. To directly address you point as regards graphics, I could probably excuse MSF for that if it had better simulation (systems, flight dynamics, weather etc) and full motion. As it goes, it has to make up for the fact most of us are sat on swivel chairs in front of our desks with superior graphics.

Did anyone notice their high end PC has 6GB of ram, could Flight be able to use all the ram we got?

It would surprise disappoint me if MSFlight wasnt a 64 bit application when they release it. 64 bit tech isnt exactly new these days, especially considering the shelf life of tech. One could even argue that its old tech

To the comments about it not looking much better than FSX... What are you expecting? Have you seen motion simulators that we need to train in... think FS2000 if you are lucky! That is the quality, yes ORBX etc is amazing but it is a 'simulator'.Feels a bit like devils advocate tonight.
I think you misunderstood some of us. For me it's not that MS Flight doesn't look better than FSX. It just looks so like FSX that it seems it's not something new but rather good old FSX with an improved graphics engine. Most of us have already bought symstems that can run FSX pretty well so unless MS Flight have something really new inside, all we'll get is some FPS improvement. After so many years I would rather have a decent weather engine, sloped runways and all the stuff FSX is missing even without performace increase.

sure?
Yes.

I find it amusing how you guys can see the underlying code and systems, just by looking at some beta screenshots... Perhaps most of you should become software engineers?

Some of us are.

In that case, it might be wise to refrain from comments like "it's nothing more than FSX with a little update" until you see the final version(or at least a more finalised version)...Nothing personal, just a general observation. This makes me think about the Battlefield 3 beta period... It's simply unbelievable how many people don't understand the "beta" concept. Chances are high they're way further down the development line over at Microsoft, than they are willing to show us right now.

In this thread we exchange our observations based on what we see in screenshots. I believe my statements fall into that category. For me it's EOT.
