November 17, 201114 yr What is it called when you are flying along and you see buildings and terrain being built as you are moving forward. It is a little distracting. I have done all the bojote tweaks and my hardware is current. My stutters are minimal at very high resolution using 3 22" screens. Performance is near perfect if I only use 1 monitor. Just seeing if I can correct this final issue. Thank you. November 17, 201114 yr Moderator What is it called when you are flying along and you see buildings and terrain being built as you are moving forward. Its called FSX and its normal. FSX doesn't have alpha fading (think thats what its called), like FS9 did to bring objects into view as you approach them. You'll get used to it and its not as noticable when you fly at higher altitudes or slow at low altitude. Its only really noticable when flying fast at only a few thousand feet agl.Too bad that wasnt incorporated into FSX as its one of the few things I miss from FS9 along with the rain and snow effects. November 17, 201114 yr You can increase the detail radius in your fsx.cfg, which will make objects "pop" in farther away and perhaps be less noticeable but that will impact performance. Drew Sikora Staff Blog Founder/Designer, MSE Airports

November 17, 201114 yr As Word Not Allowed said, the autogen radius is hard-coded in the sim (something like 14km, if memory serves). There's nothing you can do about it.

November 18, 201114 yr Author Thank you for the responses. Sounds like there is nothing for me to tweak. It is not that bad. Just an observation. Thanks again. November 18, 201114 yr I find it annoying, though. I thought it was due to my rather dated system, but now find out it's par for the course. I find it strange that this "alpha-fading", along with other things like rain/snow effects took a step backwards when MS was developing FSX. Alexander Alonso
November 18, 201114 yr To the best of my recollection, this did also happen with FS2004. Gerry Howard
