November 17, 201114 yr ok so I looked and looked for days now and can not find answer to my question. After landing at several airports that are not a sea level I get a LDG ALT next to the baro readingon right lower of display. This could be a dumb question but thanks for the help.
November 17, 201114 yr Author ok I tried that but the LDG ALT is still there. Is there not a way to set it so it shows the ground ligned up with you altitude at current airport?
November 17, 201114 yr You can turn this off if you like.See intro manual page 66.I don't think that's what he's refering to. The landing altitude bar is shown on page 10.11.24 of the FCOM and described on 10.11.25. It's a thin vertical yellow or white bar on the left side of the altitude tape. The "LDG ALT" message is shown on page 10.11.28 and described on 10.11.30 of the FCOM. It's described as "The landing altitude input is no available or invalid." Herman Ross Seattle, USA
November 17, 201114 yr I had that last night. So if your landing airport altitude is 330 feet, do you put in 300 feet or 350 feet into the pressurisation controller?Brett Brett Williamson
November 17, 201114 yr On the PFD tere is no message from the pressurization.LDG ALT message is landing altitude failure from FMC Regards Andrea Daviero
November 17, 201114 yr Author 350 but thats not it.In the FCOM on page 689 or 10-31-5 it talk about landing altitude reference but does not tell you how to set it in the FMC On the PFD tere is no message from the pressurization.LDG ALT message is landing altitude failure from FMCso how do you set it? thats my question or just leave it and thats OKI have been looking in FCOM for 4 hours now and can not find anything. Going to bed now and will continue in the AM.
November 17, 201114 yr The data is stored in the FMC when you select departure and destination. If this data is not present there will be a message. If the message is coming up after the flight, it is normal as te FMC dumps the previous flight. When the data is valid you will see a cross-hatched area on the speed tape Regards Andrea Daviero
November 17, 201114 yr I have been looking in FCOM for 4 hours now and can not find anything. That's the kind of dedication we like. Gosh, I'm feeling giddy this morning. I have absolutely nothing else to do today, so I guess I'll fire up the ole FSX and see what kind of new approach I can learn. Dennis Trawick Screen Shot Forum Rules
November 17, 201114 yr Commercial Member Isn't this similar to the NO TDZ message in the 747? If so, it's basically saying you need to select the runway you intend to land on at your destination. Once that is done, it sets the field elevation in the system, which should clear the message. Would have been helpful to see what you set up in the DEP/ARR pages. Kyle Rodgers

November 17, 201114 yr Commercial Member He is having that problem after landing and it is a normal condition.Right, but did he even enter it before landing? I'm guessing he didn't. I don't recall seeing it before or after landing because I make sure I set things up properly (or I just haven't paid attention to it because it's of no consequence to me when I'm already on the ground).
