December 7, 201114 yr I am trying to land the 737 and have a warning message on the screen saying NO LAND 3, any idea.Regards Chris.
December 7, 201114 yr Commercial Member Either some of the equipment failed, or you didn't set the aircraft up properly....either way, if you're landing the aircraft, it's of little consequence. It's only an issue if you're trying to get the plane to land for you. Kyle Rodgers
December 7, 201114 yr Both ILS frequencies set? Course correctly set? Is any of the autopilots inoperative?Silly but maybe what's happening: Does the Runway even have an ILS approach? (Yeah, I know this is silly, but sometimes you just forget it^^) Greetings from the 737 flightdeck!
December 7, 201114 yr Author It happened inflight after takeoff air Berlin Tegal to hamburg but landed for me when I selected VOR and then APP. Strange never seen it before
December 7, 201114 yr Commercial Member Did you load off a saved flight or panel state? Ryan MaziarzFor fastest support, please submit a ticket at http://support.precisionmanuals.com
December 8, 201114 yr To my knowledge its a bug. I had the same problem every time I loaded a flight but after SP1 it disappeared. Did you updated to SP1?Regards,Nic
December 8, 201114 yr I always land the bird manually but before switching the A/P off I always apply my efforts to obtain a LAND 3 on my display.Sometimes I get it sometimes not, 50% of tries let's say, I do not know why because I always do the same tasks and I behave pretty much the same. ( Yes I always have both F/D on, both course set, both NAV set etc etc.. )Anyway for me it is only a matter of curiosity since I land her manually.

Not 'LAND3'. Rick Hobbs
December 8, 201114 yr Autopilot is in FAIL PASSIVE and not in FAIL OPERATIONAL mode?Andrew Andrew Entwistle
December 9, 201114 yr Did you load off a saved flight or panel state? Can this cause no LAND3 capability?Edit: The reason i ask is i am using a saved approach situation for my manual landing practice. Rick Hobbs
December 9, 201114 yr I am trying to land the 737 and have a warning message on the screen saying NO LAND 3, any idea.Regards Chris.I don't know how persistent you have been in trying to get LAND3 to work successfully but if you cannot get it to work, try another AP or runway. Some time ago I had tried anywhere 50-100 attempts to get it to work and couldn't and with lots of help from people in this forum.......until I switched runways ! The culprit was KDTW Rwy 22R. I switched to 22L and presto, it worked. One other observation is that when you engage the 2nd autopilot, there could be a significant delay before LAND3 is confirmed.....as long as 30 sec. Of course make absolutely sure that 2X items are set: both radios tuned to the ILS frequency, both courses set to the runways heading and the runway in the FMC matches the MCP runway. I have been able to land with LAND3 after loading a saved situation.Zach zachlog
December 9, 201114 yr + make sure you are using the Collins MCP and in APP mode.Land 3 does not announce until you are below 1500 feet. ( it will say " single channel " until then )Mine goes from SINGLE CHANNEL to CMD. Rick Hobbs
December 9, 201114 yr Or you have a fail passive autoland with the Collins MCP.Collins MCP, set a Fail Operational autoland in the PMDG aircraft equipment options and you'll get your LAND 3 indication. You'll need to do it as well at an airport with an ILS approach loaded in the Navdata (a known bug) Patrick Houghton
September 5, 201411 yr Got your the same problem on my PMDG 747. Look at your upper panel IRS, are they properly set? All 3 should be set on NAV. Make sure your IRS is aligned correct (in FMC see this under index POS, do you have 3 positions?). Align the aircraft you can only do on ground when the aircraft standing still. You can also lose your align if you for example lose power for a short while on ground, if you turn off APU or ground power too quickly. If you see this warning in the air you probably need to land manually. And next time do you preflight check-list properly
