I am looking forward to the new weather engine as well as what else Tim might have up his sleeve. I recently had to reinstall windows and FSX so have not gotten around to installing Overdrive, just REX 2.0. I guess I should get the lead out and get it done before the update.Kind regards,
We have added some new features to REX Essentials that will make it really attractive. This includes giving the user more options to modify/tweak the weather engine and generation, in addition we have added REAL world-wide winds and temperature aloft. This is the ACTUAL winds and temperatures aloft - NOT forecasts and or algorithms.

I'm currently using ASE but am really interested in this, particularly for the improvements in visibility changes and the fact I have not purchased any environment texture packs yet. I know there are some distinct limitations on how FSX manages visibility, but can REX shed some more light on the improvements to the weather engine here? Any more screenshots or videos? Thank you!

This is fantastic news! I need to head over to the REX forums and get myself "verified".

Really impressive! Looks as though I will be parting with a few dollars soon...

You might want to grab it while they are running it for 50% off this month...It is well worth it, and Essentials will be a free upgrade when it is released.

Bought it and downloading!

What is with this "verification" thing? I don't see an official post about it anywhere!?Has it already been released or not?

REX Essential has not been released yet. Considering it contains several GBy of cloud images, the term "vaporware" might not entirely be a mismomer."Verification" means at some point you have provided REX Forum Admin with your REX order number. Once this number is checked, Admin changes the status of your forum account to "verified". Then when REX Essential is released, you will be able to see the download link.Cheers,- jahman.

Wow,Just saw on FSS that REX 2.0 is only $20, and then I can expect a free upgrade after that soon? I will be going over there now...and picking this REX2.0 up.
