Unrealistic FSX cloud issue

Featured Replies

Post not specifically to do with the NGX.When I'm flying in and out of clouds, it is incredibly annoying and highly unrealistic to clearly see clouds in the distance whilst in a cloud. Furthermore, I frequently notice clouds further away in the distance superimposed on clouds closer in...again totally unrealistic. Is this a known FSX problem. Any fix for it? I show an example of what I mean. The image clearly shows the aircraft in a cloud layer yet cumulus clouds are clearly visible in the distance when they should obscured from view. Any help greatly appreciated as the issue spoils the realism. Cheers, Mark.

Hi,2 things:1- AS2012 is Amazing, fantastic textures for everything.(runways, taxiways, aprons airports signs, CLOUDS), Excellent depiction, Reproduces Thunderstorm in a real way. I have installed it and uninstalled then deleted REX (forever), because i also used to have this when mixing ASE and REX.2-Go get it ! sure it will remove this issue. cheers!

Thanks bakaman, however just to confirm that you were experiencing the same issue as myself before you purchased AS2012?

The Default FSX weather is highly unrealistic. If you want realism get Activesky once you experience the difference you will wonder how you been flying all this time without it. Probably the most important addon you will ever buy for FSX.

Here is another example of the cloud issue. The little white cumulus clouds are positioned in the distance yet they are clearly visible through the closer grey looking clouds. Will AS2012 or any shader modification rectify the issue? Thanks. Mark.

Well until you invest in a weather generation program your gonna continue to see stuff like that. Nothing you can do about it.

YES YES and the pics you just posted depicts exactly what i used to encounter. If you need more details PM me and i'll help you. Im now flying my 700WL of Air Senegal to Paris from Dakar and Clouds + visibility are fantaaaaaaastic ! believe me. No more REX (even if the soft was very good), AS2012 is the way to go. You can also check my fsx info channel on my sig: i have talked about it on my 1st flash yesterday.

And why do you post it in NGX forum?

No, standard FSX cloud textures. No REX or any 3rd party software bar the NGX of course! Money%20Eyes.gif

Because this is where the 'cream of the crop' simmers hang-out so maximising chances of a resolution to the issue mentioned.

Get REX then. You won't be disappointed! And speaking of REX, they're launching a new update called Essentials that will make it even better!

AS2012 does the job of REX and then some.
