Yea I have no clue where you guys come up with this storage capacity, I would be surprised to see it get much bigger than what the Beta is now.

The beta is apparently pretty small. 1.6GB or so - I read here somewhere.I don't see why MS could not sell various scenery parts at even various detail levels for a price and cover the Earth. There is no technical reason not to package each FSX default continent and have it as a DLC. Then add the FSX high-detail airports as a DLC and you are approaching the FSX install size. Add seasons, jet models and textures and you are AT FSX install size. The issue with Flight is not scenery per se. Instead, it is the missing functionality that is of concern, because once you rip code out, it is not so easy to put back in,

Who's said it was ripped out? It's trival (two lines of code) to completely skip any part of a single source file, and only one character (;) to completely avoid a callback function...

Now, now, you are not the only software developer here. Other people have skills too and had five years to get to know FSX from the inside out.

There are many ways to accomplish the same end goal, that's the point. I've always been an advocate of writing modular, reusable code blocks that are effectively "black boxes." You provide input via pre-established entry points, some control lines, and get the output the same way.
