What do I need to know about pay-ware scenery?

Featured Replies

OK, after a while of flying the NGX and being in this pay-ware business, It's quite obvious that PMDG is the leader in the aircraft industry. Now, what is the leader of pay-ware scenery? I don't have ANY pay-ware scenery, only some free ones (upgrades to the default) that I found on flightsim.com. I've seen quite a few videos of pay-ware scenery and it looks a heck of a lot better than default scenery. Let me ask you a question, I also have REX installed. How do pay-ware scenery (I see some videos of some of them that change the size of the runway, texture, etc.) go together with REX's textures? Thanks.

I've looked at Full Terrain's products, but, the thing is that I usually fly at big airports with the NGX, not those smaller, regional airports.

Just make sure you wait for the (unanounced) sale :)Of course ORBX is only for certain areas. The best world-wide upgrade I think are mesh and texture replacement, I use FSG and GEX (GEX NA actually covers a good portion of the world). I don't have it, but many people like REX which is also world-wide and includes weather. Beyond that you need to think about where you want to fly.scott s..

To choose your scenery u kinda need to decide what region u want to fly in then see what scenery is available. Using GEX, UTX, along with a mesh scenery such as fs genesis will give u good look for a very large area.

Thanks for that information. However, I'm looking into pay-ware airports, not terrain. FlyTampa looks nice, and FSDreamteam has the KJFK that I want.

Yup they are a must no matter where u fly. A good weather engine makes alot of difference also.
